Gunnergolly Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hello all. I use a dual monitor setup along with Halios with a combined resolution of 1920X2130. I was just wondering how do you find the overall performance of BS2 when compared with the A-10C. With the above setup and resolution when playing A-10C i easily get 60FPS (i cap it at 40 tho) and it's pretty stable at that. However in BS2 im getting a maximum FPS of 40ish but it often drops down into the low 20's with a bit of action. I haven't had to much time to experiment with the settings yet to try and find the bottle neck. I was wondering have you noticed a difference in performance....even if you are only using a single monitor setup ?... For you information i have:- i5 2500k@4.7MHz. 8Gb RAM. ATI 5870 1Gb. OCZ Vertex 3 SSD. Regards Gunner.... 2 Win 11 Home 64Bit, i7-13700K@5.2Ghz Water Cooled, 32 Gb RAM, PNY RTX4090, Pimax Crystal, Quest Pro, Realsimulator FSSB R3 ULTRA, Virpil/Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS combo, MFG Crosswind Pedals.
BaD CrC Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Would love to know the perf difference with BS1 too. Running 6 screens config with Helios and BS1 and got 30 fps which is OK, but lower would be an issue. 2 https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Gunnergolly Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Haven't play BS1 in ages but with my above setup i used to easily get FPS consistently in the 60's with about a 5FPS drop when i turned on the Shkval. I used to have a high res scenery pack installed, but i capped the FPS at 40 and had smooth game play. I have been experimenting with BS2 and have found that "shadows" on high loads up my GPU (windowed mode). I have reduced them to medium and i am getting FPS in the region of about 60 and between 56/52 when the Shkval is turned. I've reduce the visibility setting down to medium and capped my FPS at 32, my GPU is running at approx 68-75% when playing quick generated missions. Will keep on trying different settings when i have the time, flying around cities sometimes drops my FPS down into the high twenties tho. Regards... ED Team Wags Posted November 3, 2011 ED Team Posted November 3, 2011 Compared to A-10C, it should be roughly the same. Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
JG14_Smil Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hello. my initial test is not good: in the Instant Action mission I got a solid 60 fps (with Helios) in 1.02. I finally found out how to run BS2 with my two monitor setup and now get 24 fps. will try tweaking... 1
Quirkitized Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Compared to A-10C, it should be roughly the same. Same for me, compared to A10C. For triple monitor compare, it performs better than BS 1.02. (imo) 1
JG14_Smil Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Best I could muster with my setup is 34 fps in BS2. This is measured at the start of Instant action / Insurgents mission. Only setting that seemed to help was shadows to low, which gained me the 10 fps. Helios BS setup does not see BS2. In Instant action in BS 1.02, I have a solid 60 fps. I run two 1920x1080 monitors for my Helios gauges, Shkval and ABRIS. Computer is a couple years old i7 965 with 4870 card. While the 34 fps is doable, I'll probably have to upgrade when the cockpit is wired up.
Randolf Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 In A10C I run dual monitor setup where I have one small screen for the MFCS's and a larger screen to display the actual cockpit. I get pretty good fps. However, when I try to do the same in BS1 I always get low fps, even if it runs smooth without the extra screen. I wonder if this is fixed in BS2. 1
