han_solo Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hello all, quick question, is their a file to edit ala Config/autoexec.cfg for FC2 and original Blackshark that will make the internal cockpit sounds louder? My sounds seem muted, the same way they were before I applied the suggested fix to the original blackshark. I can't find the equivalent file in blackshark 2. thanks.
han_solo Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 So no word on how to increase the sounds in the cockpit? - rockets, vikhrs, and flares are inaudible, the gun sounds fine though
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 You are in luck :) Place the attached file in the C:\Users\<User Name>\Saved Games\DCS BlackShark 2\Config folder. Nateautoexec.cfg Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
han_solo Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Ah! thank you, I will try and report back.
213 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 you can do this also by increasing volume slider and decreasing all the other sliders.

213 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 it works if the sounds are already loud and you have to decrease the slider to something like 50 percent. by retaining the volume at 100, which is responsible for "world" sounds bleeding through to the cockpit, you can get a good muffled, but loud cockpit sound.
spikenet Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 has anyone ever edited the sounds for use with a buttkicker? I guess you could edit certain sounds to have more bass and thump.
Sholtz Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I am noticing this same issue since I upgraded to bS2, and tried the attached autoexec file but that did not seem to change volulme of the switches/buttons at all. Any idea what I might be missing? I want to hear every lever and button thundering in my ears!!! :)
JG14_Smil Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) If I use a 5.1 surround sound, I cannot hear cockpit sounds very well. When I use a simple stereo setup, I hear them very loud and clear. As I use a real cockpit, I like to hear them as I flick the switches, so no more 5.1 for me.. Edited December 3, 2012 by JG14_Smil
Sholtz Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Still no luck here, I am baffled when I watch videos and the switches and buttons are so crisp and loud while mine are barely audible.
demonesque Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I have the same problem as Han Solo (no, not the big furry friend). All cockpit sounds are fine as they were in BS 1.0.1 except for the flares, and missle/rocket launches which are barely audible. These were changed when I installed the patch for BS v1.0.2. Like others I have not been able to advust any of the .cfg file to make any difference. So what I have done is to increase the volume of the Ogg Vorbis sound files instead. There seems to be a limit on how much volume you can increase it to in a .ogg file so I have done as much as I can That is enough to make them audible, though still not as loud as they were in V1.0.1 (maybe a half?) Still, it'll do for me. Attached are the adjusted files. Stick them in the Sound/Effects folder of the Blackshark install folders. Enjoy. :)MissileLaunch.zip
demonesque Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 These files make the missiles sound REALLY loud in the outside view. But then who fires missiles from the outside view? If you make a copy of the original .ogg files you can swap them back when you want to make a recording of a flown mission I guess.
