jazjar Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Just got it out of storage to play online, and found that the lights didn't work. I then noticed that the PC couldn't recognize it, restarted my PC, and it still didn't work. I kept it in storage because I didn't use it for a while, and there are a couple of light creases on the wire, but other than that, I treated it like the air force treats thier A-10s. Any Ideas, I already sent a message to thrustmaster. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sarge55 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) If not already done, try plugging it into the motherboard USB's not a USB hub even if it's a powered USB hub. Edit- Check this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60614&highlight=Problem and in particular posts 95 and 310 see if they are any help. ralfidude Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It is a known problem that the throttle dies. Something wrong with the motherboard. MANY many many customers had to get their replaced, including mine. Once you go through the emails with thrustmaster, they will tell you to ship it to them and it will be shipped back to you. No problems with it so far after it came back... so far... [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]
PlainSight Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I'd LOVE to have a TM warthog stick and X65 throttle :) How the quality in recent batches, does anyone know? I want to get one, but these issues put me away from buying... [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
jazjar Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Let me tell you, its awesome, just this goddamn throttle that broke. Running fine and smooth before that... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sndwv Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 For whoever's interested: I recently contacted TM tech support to ask about the status of the issue with the throttle (still scared every time I plug in the WH). They assured me that the cause is known (unstable USB voltage), and that the latest firmware makes it far less likely for this to cause problems. There is as of yet no change to the hardware, which makes updated early stock just as (un)likely to fault as current stock.
jazjar Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Great, now I have to go through the nonsense of getting it replaced. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TAIPAN_ Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 This happened to me too, once for the throttle, then once for the stick later when I was mess with the internals. No lights or anything would show up. Grab this document and follow the instructions: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/thr_eng_00140.pdf Follow instructions carefully! Do not unplug it early.
