Megagoth1702 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Hey folks! I tried looking in the manual but I did not really find information on this. In guns mode when looking at your aim circle there are two small dots in there. The first one is in the very centre and one is just a bit below that. When I am about 1.5 miles away from the target, get the CENTER dot on target and then engage PAC stage 1, it kinda stabilizes the dot on target but then the dot slowly goes DOWN so if I shoot my bullets land in FRONT of the target. Do I have to use the 2nd dot for that? Or maybe the area BETWEEN the dots? Help me out please, it does not sound good to me to have the dot on target just before 1mile and THEN engaging PAC in order to shoot between 0.7 and 0.5 miles. What is that 2nd dot's purpose and why does my center dot go downstairs off target so I have to re-aim all the time? Thank you a lot in advance! GGTharos Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) The two pippers are for API rounds (top) and HEI rounds (bottom), since they fly different ballistic paths. Right now, the sim incorrectly centers the PAC on the HEI pipper. I believe this will be corrected in the patch. effte Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 The gun fires two different projectiles, HEI and API. They have slightly different trajectories, so there's one dot for each. I think the top one is for API. Cheers, Fred ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.

Rider1 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 So, if using the CCIP gun cross, (the one without the rings and dual pippers) which bullet type is following the pipper?
Arclight Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Just to note: Right now, the sim incorrectly centers the PAC on the HEI pipper. I believe this will be corrected in the patch. So the cross does not track correctly currently. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] DCS A-10C: putting the 'art' into 'warthog'. (yes, corny. Sorry.)
