ralfidude Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 ugh... such an amazing game... such a crappy multiplayer interface.... Just like it takes Indiana Jones to find out what version you have running, by starting up mission editor, then help credits, then its displayed in the fine print. Why not have it on the bottom somewhere in the main menu??? Is it supposed to be a secret from yourself? :) [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]
Serg23 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 You can always try look at the server via history. Most popular (104, 4C, RAF, Aviasibir act) servers usaly runing and you can connect via direct IP adress from history... :smilewink: Небо - это точка опоры... =WRAG=OSA http://wings-of-russia.ru

zipdigital Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Glad I saw this post. I was beginning to fear that no one was playing online. "Sol" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron

Moa Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 For some reason this never shows up on the list, but is always pretty busy: 104th Phoenix A-10C: 75.67.253.246:10308
Rider1 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Wow that's a lot of un-passworded servers. I never see that many when I am online. Maybe they are off line during the times I play in this time zone? I usually see the big 3 that are almost always running and have at least one other person playing. (104, Stallturn and Going Ugly).
Heli Shed Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Thanks I have added it Weird the server is there .... but it dont show on master server list IMHO the Master Server system is a flawed concept conceived with the best of intentions, (based around continual intellectual protection of genuine copies by creating another security 'layer') but in execution is a complete failure. Get rid of it ED. 'T' 1 Come pay us a visit on YouTube - search for HELI SHED

Grimes Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 The depressing thing about the server browser is that is hasn't really evolved on the user end since it was first implemented with BS1. Grimes Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 You'd think there would be a way to export server information from the sim and display it on a website, to at the very least let players know who is in the server. Servman keeps track of players in the server at any given time, why can't we port that information to a common website? Make our own quasi server browser and game chatroom? Servman keeps track of players in the server at any given time, why can't we port that information to a common website? Make our own quasi server browser and game chatroom? What surprises me more than anything is not the complete 'dis-function' of the Master Server system and the in-ability to port 'out' appropriate information for a bespoke matching system, but rather the metaphorical 'quiet-lad' in the corner named ED, regarding the subject. I'm not intending to bust ED's balls here, hell, they know how much i and many others like me, support their product, concepts and the regular dynamic 'wind of change' with regards to their products (ie patches), but come on! The people have spoken and rather loud too. ED would do well to listen instead of driving themselves into the ground with new ideas and concepts. Get what you have first, 'right'. Fact is, it's a long way off. Come pay us a visit on YouTube - search for HELI SHED
ralfidude Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 If you are going to change the interface a tad bit, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD INCLUDE THE VERSION OF DCS YOU HAVE RUNNING IN A CORNER SOMEWHERE!!!!!!!! I hate starting the SP, editor, credits and finding it out there. WAYYyyyyy too time consuming for something that should be right effin there... Especially when trying to connect to a MP server, you can sort of figure, Uh oh... wrong version. Download patch! Grimes Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 When you launch the sim a little title box appears. In the bottom left hand corner it gives you the version number. ralfidude Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Il double check that. Never noticed it before. Im used to these things being in the main menu of a game. Apologies for the rant then. [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]
ED Team c0ff Posted December 9, 2011 ED Team Posted December 9, 2011 Master server was rewritten and restarted. HiJack Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Master server was rewritten and restarted. Unfortunately, it means that all current servers should be restarted to get into the server list. Hopefully, restart won't be needed again. Well, the proble still exists! The server disapear from master server list after some hours of active play. Does not get listed again unless DCS A-10C is exited and started again. No need to restart server but still an annoying bug as it prevents users from finding your server on the list. I suspect I'm not the only one with this problem. (HJ)
