EtherealN Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 DCS has costed me a lot of money just to beable play their games Not to rain on your parade, but you could have spent 350 dollars less on a 2500K and gotten the same performance in-game as you'll be likely to have with a 3930K. (3930 will of course excel in some other types of workload though.) That's money saved for other expensive flight sim kit. :D I just want to see it without stutter Ensure that you have a speedy and well maintained storage solution. That's the most common stutter source - accessing art and sound assets from HDD in-flight. HiJack Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I'm all in for this one: Intel Core i7-3770K (8. April) (HJ)
Pilotasso Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Me too, its a direct replacement, no extra changes needed (even BIOS). .
HiJack Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I need to do a mainboard change also and is looking at this "ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z Socket-1155" for now but ther may be others closer to 8. April. Most lightly I will do a new GPU also. (HJ)
Pilotasso Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 A mix of circunstances led me to ride that train for a while, like having people wanting to buy my previous hardware for a good price. Things have changed now. People lost their savings, the storage devices are having huge price increases here. Im getting the CPU for extra threads for my video conversions (I do hope games take advantage of that further down the road), only because it is very economical to just swap the CPU. I will keep the GFX card I cant justify a new purchase for the time being (of course I have said this before and then...) :D .
