Evil.Bonsai Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Really? I've called SEAD several times in the campaign and they happily blast away. 1 F16c SEAD with 2 AGM-88s against Tunguska: both HARMs fired and shot down by Tunguska 1 F16C SEAD with 2 AGM-88s against SA6/SA8/SA10 and no action by F16C until shot at. Works in 1109, not in 1110. Note: I created same mission in each (did not use same saved mission)
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I would like to see that mission. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

falcon_120 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I would love to see SAM AI behave a bit more clever ,blinking with the radar and some sort of datalink between the models capable of it like the sa-10,this way one paint you and the other fires without you noticing it.Falcon model this kind of behavour a bit better than dcs, hopefully will get something in that direction in uncoming modules
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I can just imagine all the bug reports if that was implemented....... Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
nomdeplume Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I can just imagine all the bug reports if that was implemented....... No reason not to implement it though. It's something I definitely miss from Falcon. That and having friendly air defence systems show up on your RWR. Always feels like you're coming home when all those Russian SAM symbols are replaced by Patriots and Hawks on your RWR. :)
Supersheep Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 I just set up a little mission with me and a Tunguska. After getting my Maverick off, I was so fascinated by its missile launch and the mav intercept that I did not even notice the true destination was me aircraft. So, no, Tunguskas don't shoot down no mavs anymore. Jeez. Should have trusted the one who posted this above :( And not attack from the sea inna future. topol-m Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Could you please test the same with the Tor-M1? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Supersheep Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Sure, will do. If I get close enough, that is. I do not know the system yet, but I will find out. Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread

Eihort Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I can just imagine all the bug reports if that was implemented....... Nate Wait. We can't have true IADS capability? Each system operates as a stand alone? Lame. 1

I guess ya all knew that already, uh? :joystick: Supersheep Thanks for testing and providing the results. The question is is this a bug or the Tor-M1 has been handicapped in the final version of the game on purpose? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Evil.Bonsai Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Wait. We can't have true IADS capability? Each system operates as a stand alone? Lame. Well, you COULD set up air defense groups with multiple parts and then place them about the map. I just tried out multiple radars for a single launcher. Depending where I was and which radar picked me up, I got tracking warning on the RWR from that radar and a missile launch from the launcher. Next, tried multiple launchers with a single radar. Didn't quite work as expected, though both launchers worked. Had an issue where the missiles kept exploding immediately after launch. Didn't seem to be distance from radar, as I moved the launcher to other side of map, though same distance from radar, and they launched just fine. It's pretty easy to setup a mock IADS. Just move the various launchers and radars to where you want to. There MIGHT be coding to prevent some situations, but I placed an SA6 radar at the top of the map and one at the bottom, about 150 kilometers apart, range circles just overlapping at center, then put a single launcher at center; both radars worked just fine.
Supersheep Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 Over at The WarfareSims, they are working on Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations (formerly known as Project: Red Pill), which will simulate all kinds of EW (and include sonar, satellites, radar, mines and so on). So it can be done, but it is really complex and makes for an own sim. Again, I am waiting for the future :) You can find many entries here: http://www.warfaresims.com/ Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Not a problem, it'll just TWS-drop SDB's with BLU-108's from 40-60nm, turn around and go home :DAnd what happened after you woke up? BTW, theory is one thing and practical application is another. In a recent conflict, more then 1000 HARM's were launched killing a lot's of microwave ovens but very few radars. One HARM actually missed the entire country ... While HARM's and SDB's are different weapons, similar defensive tactics can be used ... Thus, in actual conflict, nothing is as simple as weapons sales guys are trying to present. Reminder: SAM = Stealth STOP!
