Mack Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Had a chance to try Excessive Headspace's tutorial on multiple JDAM drop, and I'm happy to say it still works with the new patch. Targets served!
Frostiken Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Er, why wouldn't it? :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mhe Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Headspace's tutorial is immensely helpful but I still haven't figured out why the hell he creates a flightplan consisting of markpoints when he could just switch to MARK on the auxiliary avionics panel, slave SPI to steerpoint and just set the markpoints as steerpoints with DMS commands. Much faster than creating a flight plan. But as with every good A/C system - there is usually more than one way to do it... | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.
Wichid Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 What is the command to make the steerpoint SPI? I understand that China Hat aft long is slave tgp to steerpoint but can't remember how to make the steerpoint SPI. Wichid Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) Nevermind just read the manual. You confused me with setting steerpoint as spi and setting tgp as spi and slaving it to the markpoint. Kaiza Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 TMS aft long from memory. If I recall, headspace made that tutorial back in the beta days when everyone was still very new to it all. I would be surprised if he still does it that way because as you say mhe, it is much quicker and easier with markpoints. I could imagine at least one reason for creating an extra flightplan: With earlier versions of DCS A-10C (eg. v1.1.0.7), when you switched STEER PT dial from FLT PLAN to MARK, you could only see one markpoint at a time on TAD. Not all of them.
JG2_Miller Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 TMS left short acknowledges and clear any warning/caution/notes from the HUD & MFCDs. This would be very useful in case you get hit. Thanks for information!
Mack Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Well, Frostiken, if nothing else I drew out this information about how to try it more efficiently from MHE. I've been seeing that sometimes the patches change things--making some new methods possible, and other methods not.
Megagoth1702 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I could imagine at least one reason for creating an extra flightplan: With earlier versions of DCS A-10C (eg. v1.1.0.7), when you switched STEER PT dial from FLT PLAN to MARK, you could only see one markpoint at a time on TAD. Not all of them. Nope. In "mark" mode you see all the marks. In "FL Plan" mode you only see your latest mark point. Basically in MARK mode it becomes a cluster****! You see every single put down mark. From A to Z, even if you are only interested in P,R, G and A you will have BIG trouble scrolling through the marks because there are so many of them. That's why for a "big system" of marks it's good to create custom flight plans. FreeFall Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Mega, see this old thread/message (especially step 4.): http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1230218&postcount=6 This is what I meant. And I mentioned I was talking about old versions of DCS A-10C. Not the latest version(s).
