Sel94 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Hey guys, I just got BS1(will upgrade to BS2 soon) and I'm having a little trouble with starting up. I can get the aircraft flyable, but the TV in the middle will not turn on, I was wondering where the button is to turn it on or whatever I have to do. Thanks!
nomdeplume Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) You might want to install the videos available from the DCS site - particularly this one. The Shkval display is powered on by the targeting system switch on the left panel, just in front of the fuel cutoff valves. The power switch is on the bottom left of it. You'll need AC power available for the display to switch on. Here's a screenshot: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/black_shark/HelModel_05_Big.jpg It's where those four buttons in a square are directly to the left of the cyclic. Turn both L/R AC powers on (2 switches next to eachother in between the battery panel and the fuel panel. They have the inverted switch as well with them) If you took off while hearing "Smotret Ekran....Smotret Ekran..." you didnt turn them on. If you turn both on, the Shkval (middle TV), the CM dispenser, and the HUD will turn on. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
MTFDarkEagle Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 If you took off while hearing "Smotret Ekran....Smotret Ekran..." You hear this when you are setting your throttles to auto when not using ground power. (elec on vacuum). It means your gens aren't providing power to the system. Turn both L/R AC powers onYou mean the left and right generators. You need at least 75% rotor rpm to provide power from the gens. Sel94 Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 Thanks all, one more question. IS there a key/button to stop the camera from moving while flying? Like, get it to stay looking straight. Thanks.

Thanks. Two switches left of the switch you used to turn on the shkval is on labelled AT/GS, which will fix your shkval on the inpact piper. Also you can simply put it to standby by pressing the reset button on the very same panel. This way you will also put your hud into nav mode. so long Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram
