Using TACAN to find your wingman?

I know what you're saying, and in DCS you can use the TACAN exactly the same way it's done in reality. But you're just cutting corners when it gets to exploiting a flaw. Low priority or not. But that's just my opinion.

I'm just saying how air-to-air tacan really works and I bet a lot of people like to know that.

Hold on, not that I have tried this, but can't you HOOK the aircraft you wish to track through TAD, and then select the HOOK navigation mode for the HSI, which should give you range and bearing?

You can. But if you do that you can't hook anything else. Hooking is fine for rejoining, but using it to maintain formation means you loose the ability to hook anything else, such as target assignment.

And before you fill another post with made up stuff, I'll inform you that I have tried this in a real aircraft, with real other aircraft, and it really works like I say. And I've also tried it in DCS, it works. Try it.
