There are quite a few Japanese people who play DCS. ------------------------------- I was thinking, there are other international forums. How hard could it be to add a Japanese section? Okay yeah, I sound pretty uninformed here. The point is that there IS an Asian community that is being left out in the cold so to speak. I think that by adding Chinese and Japanese sections to the forums, ED could greatly expand their interaction with the Asian community(Well, disregarding the already existing Russian community, which is quite well established here). How hard could it be to add a Japanese section? Why is there no swedish forum? Polish? Quite a few poles here... Portugese? Arabic? Chinese? ETcetera etcetera. It's not "hard" to add sections, but why split the place up the community more than necessary? We have support forums in extra languages, and the latest addition to that is Italian. Those are added when they are observed to be in high demand. Personally, I have not seen a high demand for a Japanese one. Another obvious issue is that we need to have a moderator that speaks the language in question - otherwise we'd end up having a forum where anything goes and rules are not enforced; indeed, where we haven't got the faintest clue what goes on. That's just not an option for ED as a publisher (in many jurisdictions, ED can be liable for what users write if ED does not remove it). To be honest, I was looking at the specifics of "there are people who don't speak English" more than how to handle it all if or when it would be established. I just figured if they would come here rather than being forced to make fan sites because they can't speak a specific language, it could bring the community together a bit more. I never figured that the people who COULD speak English would migrate away from the English sections. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
