Pougatchev Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Ok... Why not talking about those nice machine? For start a little video i have take during this week on a Gamesa G58  /
monotwix Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I don’t know it has got a propeller, so why not. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
monotwix Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 If you hook it up to the national grid, it might make it spin the other way and blow the clouds back to sea. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Pougatchev Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 They are all on national grid :) For start this kind of beast you need more than wind, electrical and hydraulic power, so for making wind with we need more power than we have actually xD But i know at some place, they make it turn without wind, nice green power uhhh??? :D /
effte Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 As a pilot, I see no problems with the current insane installation of wind turbines in every possible and impossible location that can't be solved through liberal use of detcord. Nice to have power on windy days I guess. Unfortunately, winter and peak power requirements tend to mean either winds strong enough for the wind turbines to have to be feathered (=no power) or no wind. ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
monotwix Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I like that picture and I can imagine a feathered turbine covered in feathers, on the plus side though it saves some fuel as shown on the diagram but then again not the fuel prices. I tweet on behalf of birds. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Eddie Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 So what do you think about them then? Big fan? :D
monotwix Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 They don’t usually land on your finger and ask if you’ve got any seeds. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
eagledeer Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 How about these: http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/4213223
Pougatchev Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Those one's are betters! You can't control and exactly know when and where the wind come... But with this kind of machine, you aproximately know where and when the tide come, know approximately how much electricity you can produce, and know when you can inject electricity. The big problem with turbines is that we can't store electricity. And i think that would be never possible... correctly... So the primary objective is to stop thermal power station (something like that, using fuel etc etc) when wind turbines or "tide turbines" produce electricity. That's why wind energy is good but pretty irregular and hard to use correctly. But for tide turbines, that's more easy to use. /
Mustang Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hurricane force winds in Britain have caused problems for the wind turbines we use http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16115139
Pougatchev Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 AFAIK, if this one has exploded, that's because she was not in the wind way. For explanation, when an high wind comes to wind turbine, they all turn in the right position for let the wind pass without any damage. In this case, this one is certainly +45° of the way of the wind... Why? Certainly for maintenance, or because a fail has come in. After 20 meters per second nobody climb in for maintenance. I think in this case it was impossible to relaunch it by internet. One of the most possible explanation is that the 400 to 20000 transformer was something like overclocked, certainly with high speed wind. In this case someone need to go in, check if all is ok and relaunch it. But in this case, that was clearly impossible with a wind like that :noexpression: /
monotwix Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I’d like to say that all my wind turbine hopes are with you and the next time I see that again I’ll know who to blame. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Pougatchev Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 I clearly understand what you said mono, but i don't found what are you really thinking about that? /
Emmer Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Hey Pouga, You're not chopped by the propellors yet? Glad you're still alive.............. [sIGPIC]http://www.fulltimepilots.nl/Sigs/LLTM2014.jpg[/sIGPIC] http://www.fulltimepilots.nl
Pougatchev Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Hey Pouga, You're not chopped by the propellors yet? Glad you're still alive.............. :) yeah all is great here we have a little more than 40 machines and hour availability is 99.7% I'm very happy with this job :) Nice pic Emmer, Vestas and Enercon are great makers of machine  /
Emmer Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Nice pic Emmer Merci!!! [sIGPIC]http://www.fulltimepilots.nl/Sigs/LLTM2014.jpg[/sIGPIC] http://www.fulltimepilots.nl
Depth Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Reminds me of this for some reason [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pougatchev Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 "Reminds me of this for some reason" Why? /
monotwix Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Lets follow the correct assessment of the procedures and the tools used. Imaginary day work sheet. 23/12/11 09:00-12:00 I booted and kicked a seal, no equipment or materials were damaged. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Depth Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 "Reminds me of this for some reason" Why? Windmills. I've been spending too much time on Youtube :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pougatchev Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 Hahaha  I see that i'm not alone :D /
Emmer Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) Pouga is like a modern Don Quichote: Fighting the windmills FTP style.......... Edited December 24, 2011 by Emmer [sIGPIC]http://www.fulltimepilots.nl/Sigs/LLTM2014.jpg[/sIGPIC] http://www.fulltimepilots.nl
