leafer Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 If you were going to get someone a tablet, would you get the Kindle fire or spend more for Galaxy Tab? ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Spetz Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I've got an EEE Pad and keyboard from Asus. Went with this over iPad because it has usb ports, mini HDMI and was half the price of the apple. Works great for me, and with the keyboard attached, the battery life is near 16 hours in constant use (dual batteries)
Joe Kurr Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I also have the Asus Eee pad Transformer with keyboard. Big advantage is that you get a netbook and a tablet in one. It runs Android 3.2 (Honeycomb). Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
cichlidfan Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Depends on how they want to use it. The Fire is a good product for the price but it does have significant limitations like no SD slot, no 3G, no external keyboard option, Amazons limited appstore, et. al. However, with that in mind. I really like my Fire, but I mostly just read with it. leafer Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Thanks, guys. I had never heard of Eee Pad before this, so I checked it out and it's expensive in this country. Anyway, I bought the Nook from Barns and Noble. You can install amazon app store and other 3rd party app on it, and it has an SD card slot. It's for my sister whom out of the blue started telling me Dinosaurs was a hoax and, you know, other nonsense. For the longest time I tried to get her into a hobby to get her mind off of her troubles to no avail. So I wanted to get her a gift that might get her interested in reading. I got her Swan Song by Robert McCammon. lol Don't shoot me because I'm not hating on anyone's religion. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
