S! to all OPFOR 3 participants,

Thought it would be fun to share your "hottest" moments while flying OPFOR last Saturday. At the end of the day, we may have a good " Watts Highlight" of this great evening from different standpoints.

Offensively: Chasing an F-15C at mach 1.8 in IRST before delivering 2 R-77's at close range. Superb defensive skills from COBRA who dove down into the mountains while putting the threat sideways. both missiles hit the ground.

Defensively : GLOC in the middle of a High G split-S from 15k feet following a close call. I was diving at very high speed, 15/20 agonizing seconds before awakening and pulling out at less than half a thousand feet. virtual skies..real emotions:D

Being on the other end for a change, in an Su-25T and getting hunted by merciless fighter jocks.

Offensive: Flying in a fourship of Frog's out of Min Vody, NOE getting deep into enemy territory then splitting up and finding my way through valleys to eventually obliterate Kobuleti SAM systems.

Defensive: RTB trying to avoid the enemy air nails inbetween me and home, low on fuel, then I have a close encounter with some bandits where I fortunately manage to lose my hunters, feeling safe and on a clear run home they eventually find me, though i'm unaware that i'm now being ghosted by a couple of EOS using bandits for a couple of minutes, then I get the dreaded full strength air spike on my six quickly followed by a launch warning, looked over my shoulder while tring to notch and chaff then see a second silent launch, so flared like a mutha getting ready with 73's for some potential scissor action but underestimated my opponent and got my wing sliced off by cannon fire.

Quick eject, brushed myself down, then caught an Ikarus home.

Super fun, thanks to 104th for putting on the show.

Thanks for sharing Frostie :) Thumb up you guys went for a 25T...Am also sure it must have been an absolute different story like couple of hours earlier on that day, with your Flankers on the GI event ;) And by the way is there any public information about how the battle is progressing down there? Squads Status, front line, pilots stats..etc who gets the upper-hand at the moment...am regularly checking "The Georgian Pravda".

The Georgian Pravda is propaganda in favour of the Soviets, hopefully there will be pro NATO news reports in the future. Contained on that site is the current front status and the daily news archive. It's hard to reveal too much like inventory etc. without ruining the mystic and enjoyment for all involved.

Squad status and pilot stats are an interesting idea but we're trying not to create too much competition here rather focusing on running an enjoyable campaign. Hopefully more information, a form of stats, etc. can be released in the future.

I can't stress enough my thanks to those few that put a lot of work into trying to make GI work, not just the campaign itself but by making strides to improve the mechanics of running such a beast.

Well, for me in the Su-25T most stressful moment was when I had been chased by two Su-27s. Thanks to good speed of Frog I could escape.

Other moments were close to attack area, where you could see many manpads. You couldn't lower flight below at least 3800 meters. At such alt and higher Su-25T changes into flying brick. Also over TA Alfa sometimes we haven't been enough protected (I mean not many our fighters around).

On the ground I was really scared because our SAMs umbrella failed as well. Close to me BUKs\KUBs have been killed.... in such case I though enemy Frogs are really close and will attack our runway... so I took off 'n ran away close to the sea LOL...

In the next event Blues have to show up real skills :D

@ Frostie : Thanks for the additional information about "GI", I do hope we get some sort of public debriefing at the end of the campaign.

@ Bob : Man, while the whole red force won the event, I can fairly say that 2 blue elements "won" as well : 1 ka-50 and 1 Su-25T for having survived the slaughter :D well done mate S!

OT but that shouldn't be happening.

He means you shouldn't be able to cue R-77's from the IRST I believe.

Personally, my "Breath Holding Moment" during this OPFOR was when RED (Zoky) took out the three ships (HVT's). That was just freaking awesome considering the BLUE fighters were close by. I guess BLUE never really recovered from that initial shock. My initial reaction to that was this :shocking:. It was something that I always dreamed of doing. It was just bloody brilliant from my point of view.

Hey Glenmeyers,

I remember this very moment...most of the blue fighters were still parked or taxing...I think that we took off way too late. Excellent move from Zoky for sure S!

Hi there FLANKERATOR :) Actually there were two blue fighters in the air.. F-15's I guess. They were close to the HVTs. I think it was MoGas and RIPTIDE who was close by. I don't know how close they were but they did not notice Zoky at all. I guess they were distracted by the large force coming at the back of him. :smilewink: :P

RIPTIDE was on his way to the Inguri Dam at that time.

 As I said, I'm not sure who exactly was there.. but there were definitely two BLUE fighters close by. THAT I'm sure.

I can just imagine the baywatch music playing now. :D

Ya. Some guy with a Igla got pissed up on Buckfast and fell in off the wall. I rushed to save him.

This was for sure the moment of the mission. Red with a whopper of a shocker right at the start. It was very nicely done.

Thanks GG! I've actually tracked with IRST until close range before turning radar on and firing both Adders.

My point exactly
