ralfidude Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I think what he means is that they are random, and they are. I have gotten at least 4 different CTD's under 4 different circumstances, though one of them has been just confirmed to be a bug. DONT DESTROY SHIPS, IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO CTD, ED already knows this. I have had other CTDs, but so random its hard to say. For example one was me engaging a convoy, I just went guns hot on it, and then KAPUT, CTD. PAC on and everything was sweet, the second i squeezed off the cannon though, blamo... Still, its much more playable than it was before. So I am happy. At least now we can refuel without worrying, and watch those nice animations of CBUs :) PS: As for WOLF, from what I understood was that he hears the gun firing from his cockpit, and then he hears the impacts of the rounds in the cockpit, which is, indeed, weird. REL Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 New explosions seem to disappear a bit too fast. A little better perf tho. :) Also, the wingman rejoin message is deffo not fixed. Wait ... New explosions ??? Realy ?
wolfstriked Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 The first issue has to do wth HDR and depends on how ED implemented it. Some implementations of HDR are very real, some are not, and tbh I have no idea where ED is at. Delayed sound from guns is realistic and is not an issue. Sound travels at roughly 300 m/s and explains why you hear bullets impacting after you see your rounds hit their target. So I should turn off HDR,K thanks.:( Are we really supposed to hear bullets hitting the ground while in cockpit?I heard you will not even hear large bombs exploding so a 30mm round hit seems strange to me. "Its easy, place the pipper on target and bombs away." :pilotfly: i7-8700k/GTX 1080ti/VKB-GladiatorPRO/VKB-T-rudder Pedals/Saitek X55 throttle
ALDEGA Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I think what he means is that they are random, and they are. They may appear to be random ... Without posting the crash logs in the crash forum, the issues cannot be identified or fixed.
kylania Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Possibly mentioned in here, but who's idea was it to map Mic Switch Up to "Stick to Trimmer Mode"? On the TM Warthog the Mic Switch Up has never been mapped to anything and makes a perfect TeamSpeak PTT button. So you can imagine my surprise and horror and confusion last night while teaching a new Warthog owner how to fly and every time we talked our planes would go wildly out of trim! There's nothing in the patch notes about this strange mapping choice. Seems even the mouse thumb button (my other PTT) was mapped to that as well. So crazy! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie

cichlidfan Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 That's strange...I use the mic switch up to clear the radio menu off the screen and it hasn't changed with the release of 1.1.1.1. I am on the way out the door else I would dig up the relevant post but there has been a conflict mapped in the default luas for the warthog stick and throttle since at least v1.1.0.8. MeerCaT Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I'm currently downloading the patch(es) so I guess I could find out in due course, but I would just like to confirm (before potentially wasting 10 hours or so download time) that the patches available on the DCS website are compatible with the Steam installed version of A-10C Wathog? Also, related to this, the version currently available through Steam is 1.1.0.9. So I believe I must first download and install patch 1.1.0.9 - 1.1.1.0 And then download and install patch 1.1.1.0 - 1.1.1.1 Each of these patches being almost 2Gb, so that's 4Gb total patch from 1.1.0.9 to 1.1.1.1. Is this right? That's a lot of work you guys have been doing! :-)
kylania Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 All you need from Steam is the activation key. Library -> Properties of A-10C then CD Key or something. Then head over to DCS's webpage and download the 1.1.1.1 full install: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en And activate that with your CD key from Steam. No patches needed, nothing installed via Steam needed. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
MeerCaT Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 oooh, nice idea if that's really possible. Steam does kind of 'get in the way' occassionally. The full install of A-10C v1.1.1.1 is roughly 4.5 Gb The two patches I need are about 3.5 Gb collectively. So I can save myself 1 Gb download by going the patch route (if it works for the Steam installation, which it may do since the BS2 upgrade did). However, thanks for the good idea if/when I ever reinstall Warthog again in the future.
kylania Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 The game itself is 4GB don't forget. Then 2GB for each patch. Or just 4GB for the game. :) You can't patch without first having the game installed. So rather than have to store patches and patches, just install the full game and be done with it. Faster, less download, more fun. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
Tailgate Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) Is there a specific flight or wingman call or procedure to get them into the approach pattern? He seems to be flying all over the place, and of course there's the "Wheels up" and repeating "Rejoin" issue. RTB would probably get him to land at the original AB, but is there any way to get him to land first at a divert field? eta: should this be moved to the AI category?
