rockstar13 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Hi Yall I read on here that people spend time just flying around to get used to the shark, now question is do you just start any mission and just go off on your own or do you have to use the ME and set it up in there if so how? David
Nate--IRL-- Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 You can do either really. To create your own go to the Mission editor. Place a Ka-50 anywhere on the map - set the Skill level of the Ka-50 to "Player" and click fly. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Luigi Gorgonzola Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Best way to start is to get DRAGONs Training Pack (either one, standalone or combined) and use these. With these you can train most if not all aspects of BS (1 or 2), they're great. You can start the missions either "Offline" (just open from the "Missions" menu in BS) or as a Server/Client (BS Multiplayer -> New Server -> LAN type -> pick Mission -> Fly).
Jona33 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Instant action free flight Sukhumi. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Luigi Gorgonzola Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Instant action free flight Sukhumi. DRAGONs Training Pack is way more comprehensive -- sort of "must have" since 1897 ;)
rockstar13 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 The only reason i have not D/L the dragon pack is that i thought it was for MP only, not single player, and they were all updated for BS2,if not then i will have a look. David
Luigi Gorgonzola Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Oh, you can launch the (MP) missions of the trainings pack as SP missions (i.e. through the single player startup screen, just as any other mission) as well. You'll end up in the first flight in this case, but the difference is rather minor. Alternatively, you could start a LAN server and pick a mission so you can join any of the (usually four) groups that are set up in the missions. DRAGONs Training Pack is available for BS1, BS2, WH and BS2&WH iirc. Just check his signature (=STP= DRAGON) for links ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=46354 (Trainings Pack BS1 & BS2)
rockstar13 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 I have had a quick look, one question what is installation by Modman mean? David
Speedbrake Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Personally I used the ME to create several training type missions such as: Local area checkout Cross country navigation Night navigation and others, both with ramp and rwy starts.
rockstar13 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 I noticed the other night when i just stuck the shark on the map and flew in ME,there was the big red gods eye in the top right hand corner, same as in the arcade game and it flew very easy so easy that i actually landed on two different factory roof's,now i know iam not that a good a pilot,so is that an easy flight mode or sim mode? David
Luigi Gorgonzola Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) I have had a quick look, one question what is installation by Modman mean? David ModMan is a highly recommendable tool to install modifications/add ons (not only) to the DCS series, FC2 and more. If you don't want to bother about ModMan, you can also unzip the file somewhere you remember. In both SP ad MP mission select screens you can switch drives, folders, etc... Yurgon Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I have had a quick look, one question what is installation by Modman mean? You can get Modman at LockOnFiles. 7.3 should be the current version.
