astrospud Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I have always assigned collective to JoyZ (throttle quadrant) on my X52Pro. It now seems completely unresponsive, but all other inputs, both button and axis inputs, are responding normally. Axis tune window shows a shift in the position across the axis from bottom left to top right when advancing throttle, but this does not translate when in game. Profile software has no assignment on this axis. I have unplugged and re attached the joystick, with axis tune again responding to inputs, but still not translating to in game. winz Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Are you sure you're not assigning the axis for game mode while playing in sim mode, or vice-versa? The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
astrospud Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Are you sure you're not assigning the axis for game mode while playing in sim mode, or vice-versa? Yeah, that actually came to me early on, so I've checked and verified it has been mapped to the Sim mode. Just for good measure, I have saved the input config and reloaded it, just in case only clicking "ok" doesn't make the adjustments stick. Rectum non bustus
Kitharodos Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I have the same problem with a different joystick www.myspace.com/kitharodos21 Intel i7 960 3.2Ghz / 6GB RAM / GTX 470 / Windows7 64bit
Kite Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) me too some problem with x52. I want to investigate more. Maybe some wrong setting I don't know. This is happening to me. in the saitek program the movement of joy z ( collective) is smooth.no shifting no strange movement. In flght , not always, I have shifting in collective movement. If I put to idle the collective push up to maximum and then back to idle then back to max. If I leave the collective in mid position I can see it shiftng up and down without control. I exit game, re enter and everything is solved. if I check the axis tune in bs2 I can see shifting in z while I don t see this shifting in saitek axis program control. While I move z axis I see little jumps in bs axis tune don't know If it is bs or my joy but never happened with bs1 or a10 Edited December 20, 2011 by Kite
Kitharodos Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 maybe we all need a CLEAN reinstall www.myspace.com/kitharodos21 Intel i7 960 3.2Ghz / 6GB RAM / GTX 470 / Windows7 64bit

This is because the absolute position of the input (throttle, cyclic, slider, rotors) will sometimes be in between the signal values of the pots inside the controller - very coarse, by my experience - causing the axis indicator/ingame effect to "jump". This is normal for a Saitek, albeit annoying, especially with zoom function. I would avoid using the Saitek SST software to make direct comparisons, and use windows game controller properties instead. Rectum non bustus
spikenet Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 (edited) maybe try clearing the x52 (and rudders if you have them) category and reallocating the axis controls. I find with my x52pro that the game wants to set the slider as collective. I also invert the collective axis so I pull to increase rather then push. if that doesnt work then you could delete the BS2 saved game directory (after doing a backup) from your windows user profile. You could alsotry removing your saitek stick info from the registry. However, if it was woking ok in BS1 then its probably just a BS2 config issue. good luck Edited December 21, 2011 by spikenet added stuff
Kite Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I have to better check . Did not have time , but last flight I entered mission and happened this shifting in collective. Exited game re entered and everything was fine. In the first flight I used the "f" collective brake in flight. In the second flight I did not use it. As I say I want to investigate more.... It is not a complain because maybe it is my fault in setting. Don't know.

Upon restart of the game, it should start with defaults. I hope. As you say, back up before proceeding! :D Rectum non bustus
astrospud Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 OK, can confirm deleting the saved game information and setting up from scratch solved this problem. Not too difficult if you have a relatively simple set up like I do. Case closed! :) Rectum non bustus
rooster328 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I have the same problem, ie in key mapping the collective seems to work fine when assigned to the X axis of the G940 Throttle but in game the Collective does not move. Tried putting it to Slider, inverting it, reassigning to the 2nd collective on the g940 but nothing is making the collective move in game. Never had this problem with BS1 only in BS2
EtherealN Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 rooster328, did you transplant your settings from BS1 into BS2? If so, you broke it. ;) Delete the input folder in SavedGames directory and re-map controls after restarting the game. spikenet Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I did a re-install of my system and found for my x52 I now have 2x collective entries in options. Seem to remember someone mentioning the same thing before. Anyway, one of them doesnt work but the other one does. This is something new for 1.1.1.1
