deaconjb Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 That's in case DSC releases F/A-18 in a two seater version.:smilewink: Hehe. You'll be WAY ahead of the rest of us. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mt5_Roie Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 Indeed...can you image how cool that would be though? Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Mt5_Roie Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Yep testing out everything a couple more times then I can begin my cable management regime. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Mt5_Roie Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Added some decals to it. Since I haven't found a chair online I'm thinking of designing a ACES II PVC chair. Still working on the sketches but so far, it might cost as much as my pit does at this point...but it'll be worth it! Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Mt5_Roie Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 I've started working on designing a chair. The framework for it will be from PVC, but I think I will re-enforce it with wood. The seat height will be around 22 inches. Back portion goes up to 4 feet. Here's some initial sketches: I'm going to see if I can add more support in the back side to make it a big stronger as well. With wood on the sides I'm going to see if I can actually build throw switches to mimic the ejection handles and the ejection seat arming as well. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Mt5_Roie Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Updated pit pictures: Got this Telex aviation headset and usb box off ebay for 105 bucks. The headset is amazing! It's got noise cancellation so everything is nice and quite in the pit. It's so good my wife thanked me for listening to her complain about work last night - and I didn't hear a darn thing. A new panel I put in. Need to reprint the cover for it. It has TACAN controls since I"m doing AAR more now. Plus has CMS controls. Sorry for focus issues. Need to get a new camera. I got the racing seat from a co-worker who's a big car guy. 20 bucks for the seat, 54 bucks for wood and materials to build the mount for it. It's amazing. I'm going to angle it back at 15 degrees when I get a chance. Still getting used to the new computer and new monitor. I mounted the speakers on the frame, there is also a center one behind the MDF's Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Zenga Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Nice work! I like the last picture. It gives this special feeling of a "cluttered" cockpit - just as it should be! Not so clean like in the 5th generation fighters... Great job, roiegat
