  1. Danke Peter, I will try on Tuesday - hopefully. That's wgen Swisscom promised to have a Technician around to find the source of disruption in their network that prevents the internet to work in the new appartment we just moved into. one with a dedicated room for my hobbies ... hmmm
  2. Hi Folks, got a similar issue with the Radio Command Menu display. My monitor setup is "Camera + RMFD" and since (re-)installing DCS World 1.2 and associated A10C and CA, the radio command menu now always shows up at the top right corner of my MFD but not my main screen ("Camera"). Despite it looks a bit odd, I even can't see it completely because my TM MFD bezel hides the rightmost part of the 8" monitor. Is there an easy way to move the radio command menu back to my main screen without modding too much? I have no custom radio commands and I use the TM Warthog Throttle's Mic Key to access the menu. Thx in advance. Greetings, Zenga
  3. While we're talking about MP... Is there a "guide" or somwhat similar about Do's & Dont's for playing (A-10C or CA) MP? What I'm looking for is a set of procedures what to do and how to behave correctly once logged in on any server. Just don't want to mess up any game or be rude due to not following the procedures... I can imagine it might have to do with what server you connect to.
  4. many thanks forall the replies! ok, maybe I should think about trying MP once. But I have to wait until mid September. Then, my wife and me will moe into a larger appartment with a room dedicated to nothing else but "Warthoging" :) Then, I won't bother her while yelling at the other guys on the field :music_whistling:
  5. Gentlemen, being a fan of DCS:A-10C from day one, I just took my chance and bought the CA-beta. I just had the time to play around 2-3 hours yesterday and went through the (brief) manual beginning to end. I'm a bit shy to ask, but can anyone tell me idiot how to call the circling Hogs above me when I'm acting as a JTAC and actually lase a target? I have not found any "radio button" or key assignement that let's me communicate with the air assets available. Or do I just have to lase the target and sit and wait until anyone has detected my laser beam and attacks the target (without any communication)? I'm speaking about Single Player here. In my desperate attempts yesterday, I even tried to use the button on the TM Warthog's Throttle that I use there to communicate with anybody when flying the A-10C... Can anyone help. Or is that functionality simply not yet included in the beta? Thanks in advance! Zenga
  6. Hey Gremlin, very nice progress! Never expected an A320 MCDU to look that nice in an A-10! Great implementation. Keep up the great work - it's quite inspiring!
  7. DM, great work again! The Pitot Heat Switch looks cool - did you bought it like that off the shelf or customized it yourself?
  8. reactorone, amazing job! I'm following your thread for a while now, but your last picture really made me going crazy. So far, this is the most advanced replica of any A-10C cockpit I've seen here! (hopefully not offending anybody else - I may just have overseen some other pictures ;) ) Even if it's not all 100% as the real one (like the engine instrument cluster which is positioned a bit more to the right - but I know why you did so) - it still gives an amazing impression of sitting in a real Hogpit! Very clean, very nicely assembled and just....impressive! Your last picture now serves as my example when somebody asks me what I'm planning to do in the next few years (I'll definitely not gonna be as fast as you). Tres bien, monsieur!!! Cheers, Zenga
  9. Nice work! I like the last picture. It gives this special feeling of a "cluttered" cockpit - just as it should be! Not so clean like in the 5th generation fighters... Great job, roiegat
  10. all running fine now, I also have the Cougar MFD temporarily attached to the 8" displa (I'll do some pics this afternoon). Just from ground test, it's killer immersion really! I've searched the forum up and down, but I didn't find the right posts: does anybody know from memory how to turn off the MFD in the main camera view (for performance purposes)? Thanks!
  11. You saved my day, Evader. Latest driver straight from displaylink and it works! What a shame I didn't look for them before. I was searching on the lilliput website itself though, but without any success. Now I can start adjusting the .lua file and get in nicely fitting within the Cougar MFD. Just did a first attempt and got the right MFD exported fine. It only covers the entire 8" display now (800x600), so I have to find out how I can shrink it to fit within the 4.9x4.9" area if the Cougar MFD... Thanks again folks for your kind help!!!
  12. Hi all, I desperately need a bit of help from some pros. Just bought a 8" USB monitor UM-80 /C/T from Lilliput. I intend to display one MFD from the A-10C on it. I installed the driver (Win 7 64-bit) from the CD that came along with the screen. As soon as I switch on the screen, on my main monitor I can see instantly a window opening, showing the first page of the driver installation process (this "yes, I accept the license and terms" thing). However, I didn't even manage to click on "accept" because less than half a second later, I find myself on a blue screen. This happened multiple times now. First I thought it's a power consumption issue, although I ran the UM-80 already with a powered USB hub. Then I stripped off all other USB devices that I have connected to my PC, leaving only the UM-80 and one Logitech Unifying receiver for keyboard and mouse. Same thing, I always end up with a blue screen. Then I installed the driver software on my notebook and tried if the screen works with my notebook - it does perfectly! The notebook has Windows 7 64-bit on it as well. Does anybody have a clue what the heck is going wrong with my PC? I've read the Lilliput's are quite popular, perhaps someone has observed a similar issue. these are my specs:
  13. Hi Flamin Squirrel, metalnwood also has offered some really great extensions. I just received mine this week - and it's great! Don't know if he still got some, but check here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65881 Cheers
  14. I was thinking about that too....just then I realized DM is talking about a REAL stick, right? So that one comes with more than the 5-pins we have on our TM replicas....
  15. To add to Eddie's comments on this one: It has happend more than once that NATO didn't had to fire ANY HARM to get the Serbs shutting down their radar. A simple MAGNUM call on the radio did the job ("MAGNUM" is the typical call-out you do when firing an anti-radiation-missile...like the more known "Fox2" for a Sidewinder launch). The Serbs, listening to the NATO radio frequencies of course, anxiously shutted down their radars when they heard that call, anticipating the incoming missile. A fun point: In some missions, even A-10 pilots called out MAGNUM and it worked, even though everybody knows they don't carry any HARMs at all... There are many reasons why they didn't hit a lot, but IMHO the lack of capabilities, even the more limited ones of the A-model were minor. Many had to do with the ROE and the time and effort it took to get attack approval on a detected target. All that to minimize the probability of accidently killing civilians, which is fully right, of course. But sometimes it just took them 40 minutes after spotting a valid target to get the approval to attack it - even if it was a tank with no civilian structure or people within a mile of it! By the time they received clearance, they were bingo so all they could do was to hope the target would still be there when they return from the tanker. Or handover the target to other strike assets available.
  16. and he's not the only one :music_whistling: Please continue DM, your work is priceless!
  17. if you think I'm serious, yes. Damn this irony-thing agin...:)
  18. amazing... I am thinking about writing an email to one of the buyer´s wife. Something like: "Hey, are you aware what your husband is going to waste money for? Oh and by the way, have you seen the new shoe sale in town?" Hope that´ll do the job and one of the slots gets free for me...:D
  19. Hi Peter, many thanks for the clear explanation. Well, that the GPU doesn`t care whether it outputs a camera view (thats what I meant by "main screens") or the MFD was clear to me. The question was more whether it makes a difference for the game. But your last answer made it clear there´s no alternative to SoftTH when I want to have a fullscreen mode on my primary screen and the MFD on a secondary (and later another MFD on a third screen). Guts Nächtle :smilewink:
  20. Got the Saitek Pro pedals for 1.5 years now and I'm as happy as I can be. Actually, I don't think the resoution of the sensors is the main criteria. I strongly doubt one will notice the difference between a 512 or 1024 resolution for rudder pedals... But there are other aspects to bear in mind. When I searched for pedals that time, I've read many many reviews, mainly about the Saitek and CH products (and a few others). What I've learned from that was that the Saitek - over the long run - are extremly good in returning to the center position. That was the USP for me and I can just confirm that after 1.5 years of heavy usage (FSX, FC2, DCS), the center position has not faded away at all. As soon as you relief the force on the pedals, they smoothly return to the center position. I have not changed my (very narrow) deadzone setting since installation. Very solid product!
  21. Hi all, I'm buying a 8" Lilliput UM-80/C for exporting one of the MFDs to that monitor. Initially, it will be only a single MFD since I only have one video card (and my motherboard does not support two) so I cannot hook up 3 displays...at least for now :D. My main screen is a Samsung 24" LCD. Does SoftTH help for my planned setup? I've read somewhere that you are forced to run DCS: A-10C in windowed mode when running more than one screen - and therefore one has to run SoftTH for Fullscreen mode. But that was all for users with multiple "main screens" (main camera view shared on 2 or 3 screens), not with a simple export of a single MFD. So in one sentence: When I want to have fullscreen mode and a secondary monitor displaying the MFD, do I have to use SoftTH? Any other up's or down's in that respect (FPS,....)? Thanks in advance! Zenga
  22. That's right. I had the same issue and found out that one has to modify each mission in the mission editor. But it's an easy game, no advanced misskion editor knowledge required. Simply place a blue ground unit close to the airfield(s) (IIRC within 2 miles) you want to rearm or refuel at. The type of unit (tank, APC, Humvee, SAM,...) does not matter. Save the mission after you have added the ground unit and all works fine :)
  23. Thanks, Deadman! That pdf was quite interesting and now I see the "D" type without the center lock. Apparently, the HWL website does not have the correct images for each type, the image for the "D" type is indeed the "A" version with the center lock. When I look at the HWL prices, I think I should add another column to one of my Access DB tables: "alternate dealer"....:music_whistling: Just one question: You say you may sell some copies of your MIP possibly. Are we talking about a completely assembled, wired up MIP? So I think we're talking about some 4-digit numbers here, right? Just a curiosity... EDIT: Really interested to see some pics of the indicators over the weekend...!
