Azrayen Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 @ Emmer : Your problem is not the same one we (=GR=VAGGOS and me) have/had. Could you be more specific? Describe your config, explain what means "went back to Fly Again" exactly? VAGGOS's advice is good, too: check your download. Barbs published the MD5 checksum on the dowload post. Cheers Az'

HiJack Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 My first mission "Opération chaîne de montagnes" is started at the server. It is of course WIP but has 8 x 8 flights. There may be a lot of things not configured like correct loadouts. I am also completly lost in what plain does what tasks so I need more information to tune the mission. Resent changes: - Added C-135FR refuel tanker. - Added E-3F AWACS. - Added Irqi Mirage F1-EQ5/6 - Added Mirage F1CT - Added a few friendly ground targets at WP2 (both sides) - Added IL-78M refuel tanker. - Added A-50 AWACS. I am also testing these mods in use on my own client that runs the AdA MOD. Seams good so far: (HJ)

Cheers Az' Went back to Fly Again means if you are clicking on Fly, your game is loading.... But it went straight to Fly Again, in the game. My config is ok, i play FC2 with the highest settings and have no problems at all. Now i try to install the ADA MOD 2 manually. With a copied directory of FC2. I let you know bout the outcome. Azrayen Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 @ VAGGOS, please check MP :) @ Emmer : OK, what you call "Fly again" is the debriefing screen, right? As shown on the attached pic (see below)? Let us know how went the manual install. Don't forget that when you install manually, you'll have to declare the new CDDS files (without that, the aircrafts will have no texture and will be invisible). To declare the new CDDS : - open the Config/graphics.cfg file with a proper text editor (tip : use Notepad++, it's free & easy | do not use the notepad from windows, it may corrupt files) - locate the line #152, you must find: TextureCollections { highFolder = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures\\"; common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\LandTexturesBMP.cdds"; - insert code lines related to the CDDS for AdA Mod between the last 2 lines of the code above, in order to obtain this: TextureCollections { highFolder = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures\\"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Weapons_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Su-25_IRAQ_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Structures_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Structures_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_SEM_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_SEM_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Rafale_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Rafale_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Rafale_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageIV_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageIV_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageIV_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_IRAQ_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_IRAQ_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_IRAQ_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_MirageF1_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Mirage2000_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Mirage2000_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Mirage2000_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Mi24_IRAQ_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_KC-135R_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_KC-135R_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_KC-135R_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Jaguar_A_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Jaguar_A_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Jaguar_A_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_J7_IRAQ_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_J7_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_F-5E_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_E3F_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_E3F_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Common_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_Common_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_cockpit_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_cockpit_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_B-707_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_AlphaJet_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_AlphaJet_Marking_TGA.CDDS"; common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\_AdA_AlphaJet_BMP.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\LandTexturesBMP.cdds"; - save the file - fly the sim :) Cheers, Az'

Azrayen Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 OK :) @ VAGGOS & Emmer : I made several tests yesterday night and this morning. It appears that FC2+AdA is "heavier" than just FC2, and it's harder for "limited" (by today's standarts) computers. On my computer, removing one of the two heavier CDDS (*) from AdA is enough to have the high scenes (that was just for test, this is not a long term solution). That showed that the problem is memory-related (at last on my system). (*) _AdA_Mirage2000_BMP.cdds or _AdA_MirageF1_BMP.cdds If you have a system with limited RAM memory (I have 2GB on XP32) you can try the "3GB" option for booting windows. I tried that, and with all the AdA files, I can start my multiplayer test mission (VAGGOS : that's the 01) and have the high scenes. To do that, follow this: Could be a limitation in the memory usage: Try this: Crashes, Glitches in a 32bit OS (Applies even if you only have 2gb.) Mustang's Win 7 \ Vista 32Bit 3GB Hack Here Mustang's XP 32 Bit /3GB Switch Here The best solution is, of course, upgrading your hardware with more RAM. The "3GB" is a workaround, we cannot guarantee it will work on all systems, nor that it will be stable. We are considering adding RAM requirements to the AdA Mod read-me... ++ Az'
Emmer Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Salut Az! Finally had it working on a clean FC2 install. Flew all aircraft just fine at the highest settings, even wit A/A 32x! Having 8 G of RAM in my system its not a problem at all. Looks very very cool! Merci. Now i am going to install it on a second FC2 directory; i copy my original FC2 directory and rename it. With the latest ModMan i install the ADA MOD v.2. Ok, you need to edit the shortcuts;point them to the correct target and start(begin) in. I let you know how this is going. Merci encore, Emmer. chetan Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 (edited) Hi, I am chetan new to this forum i downloaded ada mod 2.00 where i am having problems and i have a question how to explore cdds of ada 2.00 through mod man cause its not being displayed please do help me!:( Edited January 9, 2012 by chetan
Azrayen Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hi chetan What are your problems? We used the tool (CDDS Studio) by ED to create the CDDS. Perhaps it doesn't work with ModMan, and you have to use the same tools to open the files? I don't know what you're trying to do, but please note you don't need to open the CDDS to play the mod ;) ++ Az'
chetan Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hi Azrayen, my problem was i was not able to get the textures for aircrafts so tought of may be prolem in cdds files so tried to open it through cdds explorer but coud no open thats y i consulted you
Azrayen Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 my problem was i was not able to get the textures for aircrafts You mean : you have all-white (or transparent) aircrafts ? and black cockpits for the Mirage 2000, F1 & SEM ? If yes, can you post what version of ModMan you used to install the AdA mod? Is it at or above the v6.3.0.1? If you got a lower version of ModMan, we advice to upgade your ModMan to the latest available version, then re-try to install the AdA Mod. If that doesn't solve your problem, or for any reason you absolutely want to install the mod "by hand", then please check this post and follow the instruction below "To declare the new CDDS :" Please note that a priori, no need to open the CDDS files to fix the problem. [*]If no, please provide a screenshot of what you get in game & describe your PC (hardware, OS...) ++ Az'
Sceptre Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I post anyway: It has happened to me many times before and is a real pain in the neck. If your game does not start (press pause break but is frozen), then this is your problem and how to fix it: Go into your LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2 folder/config/input/aircrafts/ have a look at the folders there. It should only have the names of aicrcraft that you know are installed in your game. To check this go into the options menu and pull down that select aircraft menu. If an aircraft that should not be there is there (click on it and the game will freeze) then remove it from the aircrafts folder! Hope this helped anyone! chetan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I am greatful for your reply and information i will try that thanks a lot :)
Azrayen Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Sceptre, thanks for the tip. There is absolutely no reason to have such a problem with the AdA mod, provided you follow the advice (install on a clean version, no other aircraft mods compatible so far). Take care, too : in some cases, the name of the plane in the list (options>commands) is not the same as the name of the folder in Config/input/aircrafts/ eg with the AdA Mod, the Rafale M uses the folder "MiG-29K". If you think "I have no MiG-29K" and erase the folder... then you can't fly the Rafale M anymore ;) Cheers Az'

I don't know what you're trying to do, but please note you don't need to open the CDDS to play the mod ;) ... but you do need to open them to extract skins in order to edit them/make new ones, which is something I'd like to do but can't because neither CDDS Studio nor ModMan will work
Azrayen Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I haven't tried myself for a long time... but it did work on the early alpha versions and I can't see why Barbs would have changed his methods... Are you sure your problem (with CDDS Studio) is releated to the AdA mod? I.e. did you try to open with CDDS Studio a vanilla CDDS from LockOn? Are you aware of the "no space in path" limit for this application? ----- Templates are to be released. No date known at present. Cheers Az'

BarbsMan Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 No, I cant get them open either using the same tools. How did they do it ? :helpsmilie: I did the CDDS packaging using TexToDDSd.exe (the command line tool coming with CDDSStudio). To extract textures you need to use the same tool like this : TexToDDd.exe -dump <CDDS FileName> <OutDir> ++ Barbs.
crazyeddie Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks Barbs, tried that but every time I open that file it runs for a second or two then stops working, any ideas why ?
