bird-1 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Can we choose to use the throttle of hotas cougar without joystick ? Maybe translate the terminal to USB ? PoleCat Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Maybe with the use of target although I am not sure. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
Gadroc Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 No you can't. The throttle does not have the electronics in it to communicate with the PC. You would have to get something like a LEO Bodnar board and wire that into the throttle. I have done this. I think I wrote down all of the pin outs on the cable colors. I'll see if I can't dig it up and post it.
PoleCat Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) I was assuming you meant with both throttle and stick connected and instead using a different joystick instead of the Cougar Stick with the Cougar throttle. Of course you can do this with Target. I missed that you were actually asking if you could use it without the stick connected and of course as Gadroc correctly states you can not. Sorry for misunderstanding. Out Edited January 3, 2012 by PoleCat http://www.104thphoenix.com/
bird-1 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks for all your replies, I just want to use the joystick of warthog all the time, the throttle of cougar for FC2 and throttle of warthog for A10C; Now,it seems that I should connect the throttle of cougar with its joystick all the time even I don't use the joystick…… NFI_651/bird-1 NFI Chinese Web Intel i7 6800k OC 3.7GHz | MSI X99 | Nvidia GTC1060 6G | DDR4 2400MHz 32GB | Sumsung SSD 256GB | Apple 27’LCD | TM Hotas Warthog for A10C & Cougar for FC3 | Saitek Flight Rudder Pedals [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic63864_3.gif[/sIGPIC]
PoleCat Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Correct. The Cougar throttle needs to be connected to the joystick for it to function. You can mix and match Cougar and Warthog devices in target and use which ever configuration you like. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
Leonski Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Is it still not possible to use the Cougar Throttle as a standalone? McDonnell Douglas ✮ F-15C Eagle ✮ // USAF 2012 // Raytheon Trophy HD
Chief1942 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 TUSBA It's possible with one of these. I've got one myself. This is the only device I am aware of that allows function of the F-16 throttle without it having to be connected to the stick. And this device is much more sensitive as to throttle settings than the old way. some1 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I just stuffed the cougar joystick base behind my PC, works just as well. You can dismount the grip if you don't use it, so it doesn't take that much space. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!
