dooom
air race pylon? i think with the p-51 in game, we just need some sexy skins and a competitive league for air racing. we would need: - pylon map object - smoke pods - ability to extract a "time". Perhaps this can be acheived with ME but at fist thought I can't think of how... perhaps a zone trigger to start a clock counter.... better yet would be the ability to export the times into leader boards. Blaze
These would be the more appropriate pylons: Easy enough shape for any 3d modeler in the community to make, doesn't have to be ED. ;) i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Grimes
Trigger actions: "Start gui stopwatch" "pause gui stopwatch" "reset gui stopwatch" "add time gui stopwatch" "decrease time gui stopwatch" "toggle visibility gui stopwatch" The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. dooom
it would be nice if it was a stock inclusion though... i know modellers can make it but it would be best if it was included at launch... in addition to the GUI stopwatch... I like that idea Grimes. I'd like to see the air races a sanctioned ED tournament event with the leaderboards actually hosted on the DCS P51 site. Speed
- ability to extract a "time". Perhaps this can be acheived with ME but at fist thought I can't think of how... perhaps a zone trigger to start a clock counter.... better yet would be the ability to export the times into leader boards. You can do all sorts of variations of course timing using triggers and/or Lua as it is right now. For example, I edited one guy's Ka-50 obstacle course last year for him to output your course time to screen, and it wasn't even necessary to install a mod to get this to work. In that particular case, it was accomplished by editing the unzipped mission file, and capitalizing on the fact that triggers are checked every 1 second. So anyway, timing isn't something that is currently impossible, it's just not as straight-forward as regular mission editor tools are, right now, and most decent implementations require some kind of Lua edit. It would be cool, I agree, if ED implemented some kind of timer more directly. As far as air racing pylons, you could just use radio towers. dooom
cant place radio towers on water. :) Besides. may as well have them look pretty and do away with the support wires etc. an official league would be awesome.
