thaisocom Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I'd nice to see Kinect support for DCS series as an alternative to TrackIR since MS already release Kinect for Windows (News here: http://www.techspot.com/news/47278-microsoft-releases-kinect-for-windows-hardware-and-sdk-10.html ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CM HAF-X | Corsair HX1000i | ASUS P8P67Pro | Intel Core i7 2600 @ 4.0GHz | Corsair CWCH70 | G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600MHz | ASUS GeForce GTX 970 4GB | Plextor M5Pro 256GB | WD Caviar Black 1TB * 2 RAID 0 | WD Caviar Green 2TB | Windows 10 Professional X64 | TM HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedal
jib Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Yeah but the frame rate and sensor resolution are much better with TrackIr 5 and it is already implemented and works great, I’m not saying it won't happen or couldn't be useful. Someone might integrate Kinect it with FreeTrack or build something similar to FreeTrack. I don't think we will see official support for ED as they are already partnered with TrackIr Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated! Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 3.00GHz GPU: GeForce MSI RTX 2060 6GB RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR2 HDD: 1TBGB Crucial SSD OS: Windows 10, 64-bit Peripherals: Logitech G940 Hotas, TrackiR 5, Voice Activated commands , Sharkoon 5.1 headset. ,Touch Control for iPad, JoyToKey
Korn Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 ED realeased the Headtracker API, that's how we got Freetrack working (10x samtheeagle!). So it's not up to ED, anybody with the programming skillz can pull this off now that Micro$oft released the Kinect SDK.
BTTW-DratsaB Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I own TrackIR, but I am definitely interested to see how Kinect can be used with the PC in Sims. Shame they made it so much more expensive than the console version though. Specs: GA-Z87X-UD3H, i7-4770k, 16GB, RTX2060, SB AE-5, 750watt Corsair PSU, X52, Track IR4, Win10x64. Daze Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Will the Xbox Kinect work if you plug it into your PC? Or do you HAVE to get the new PC model? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] First to Fight, First to Strike.

average_pilot Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I'm pretty sure they've created some kind of artificial incompatibility. It happens often in these times with many products. But, if that is the case, sure there will be a hack to use the xbox version with the SDK for PC and we all will buy the xbox version :P
