I am having quite a bit of trouble landing my bird,I am used to the techniques used by american fighter planes,but it dont work with the 2 soviet aircrafts I just mentioned.I fall short of the runway every time,I need a tutorial that covers this aspect of flight,does anyone have a favorite trick or technique i can try out???? Thanx in advance guys. :confused:

If you can land an A-10 or F-15 you should be able to land the Su-27/33. Only the Su-25 with AFM is a little tricky.

 

Are you sure that you don't mix up knots and km/h? Kk, of course not ;). You can easily touch down at 250-300 km/h. Maybe describe your approach...

Schimmel,you're the man,my problem was a combination of just about everything you mentioned.I have a hard time adjusting to the western way of doin things,I'll get use to it,Anyway thanx buddy,a few training sessions and i should be good. :icon_jook

Do you use the ILS?

When you're in return mode (1 key) and approach a runway it switches automatically to landing mode, to make a perfect approach you should keep the small circle inside the larger one. Very usefull for carrier landings :)

 

I think 280-290 km/h is a good final approach speed, you don't wan't to go much below that.

I suggest you begin your landings practice with Su-25T. After you've mastered this bird, you'll be able to land even a fully loaded washing machine :D
