JCook Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 1) How can I add a smoke signal to identify a target - similar to what was done in the training missions? 2) Where do I set time of day? All the missions I build seem to start at 1200 - I'm setting the time from the 'player' aircraft and all other objects seem to key off of that. I've tried changing that to 1700 for a late afternoon flight - it seems to stay at 1200. Thanks
xxJohnxx Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Hi, 1) The smoke signals or smoke markers as they are called in the mission editor are available in the "triggered actions" area. To make a smoke signal as in the tutorial you set a trigger zone above or near the target which you want to mark. You also remeber the altitude which is shown in the bottom line of the screen. Then, you open the "triggered actions" menue and add a trigger. You can give the trigger a new name and choosecif it should happen continusly, once or at mission start. In the next colum you can ass a condition. For example you could activate it if the player aircraft is in a certain trigger zone. Now you can add "smoke marker" in the third colum. You have zo enter the altitude and select the trigger zone which you have added before. And as soon as the condition is true the smoke marker will show up. 2) I don't know it by hard and I don't have acess to the ME right now however on the left side of the screen, somewhere between the "save" button and the "add unit" button should be seceral other buttons. And one of them opens a window where you could set the mission start time. There is no need to set each unit seperatly. joey45 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Time of day is in the breifing. Where you can also set the date. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. JCook Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Thanks guys for the info - now I can continue my mission building.
MadTommy Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 You really want to use the GUI manual for reference.. it has approximately 150 pages covering the mission editor.. its very useful. ;) \Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Doc\DCS A-10C GUI Manual EN.pdf i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. BigfootMSR Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 You can also set a smoke marker to a specific unit using the triggered action. say your hog enters your engagement zone and sets flag 1 to true. Trigger type "once" > Flag is true "1" > smoke marker on unit "Unit name" DCS: A10C Warthog JTAC coordinate entry training mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99424/ DCS: Blackshark 2 interactive training missions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612
