ShaZe88 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Hello, I am new and searched around for explanation on the various switches / system but couldn't find anything beside startup procedures. Is there anywhere I could find a list of all the switch functionalities or system's explantions? Such as, what does the Ekran do, INU, etc, etc with their specific effect on the game / helictopter. Unless it is already provided within the documentation. (I cannot verify since the game is currently downloading) I could of course simply learn the basic startup ritual... but I would prefer knowing what the hell I am doing lol :P Thanks!!
Daniel M Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Hi Shaze, nothing beats the manual :) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ The producer notes on youtube are good as well.
ShaZe88 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Oh wow, that is what we can call a proper manual. I didn't know it was available online. Well thanks a lot, now I suppose that I have quite a read to do :P
Daniel M Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 yep, its well worth the read. The other thing you can do is jump online, get on a voip server, and most guys will walk you thru things pretty quickly. (though i recommend you can get AP channels and trim under control before)
TurboHog Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 And try the interactive tutorials made by BigFootMSR. And agree on the manual it's really good. 'Frett'

I just do searches to forums and youtube and ask a few questions. I found a lot of helpful stuff since February 2012. I think I have SDeath's Beginner's Cold Start Checklist now memorized. That is how I got started in BS2 just the last couple of weeks. Last year I tried and failed to get the startup sequence because everything was in Russian. I compare these 2 DCS sims like learning guitar and spending 18 hour sessions daily until relative mastery. The Flight Manual is rather intense. I play a bit with flying the sim, encounter a problem, then read about it. Then fly some more. Glad I don't have to pay $$ for my mistakes! This person has a 2 hour tutorial in a full system startup and explains the why of it. I have not completed it, yet. Put the .miz file under Black Shark 2/Missions folder. It will display within the Missions heading within the index. There is absolutely no other way to say it. And the game seems to be easily moddable, I must say, I am impressed. It is also rare these days to find games created for a small audiences since most of the big producer prefer going for the mass market which is a "safer" option instead of doing something completely amazing that might only appeal to a few individuals. Thanks a lots for the help guys, it was really appreciated. I feel like I will learn much faster now :P

Do a search here or to Google concerning this sim: Sim-Pits and separately: Mods should get you with the guys that go a bit deeper and farther and are the true innovative guys within sims. SimHQ is a forum that gets rather intense.
