Track ir is not showing up in game

Hello all,

 

I am new to DCS world and just purchased the p51 plane. Unfortunately for some reason i'ts not picking up my track ir 5. Tho the track ir is working. It still works in Rise of Flight and other programs.

 

Is this a know problem?

Make sure you have trackir activated before you launch the sim. Also be sure you have it active and go into the settings menu and ensure that DCS "sees" it.

 

Do you get the light on the right side of the trackir "camera?"

Everything is turned on before I launch DCS world. In the controls setup I see my g940, sidewinder and mouse but no TrackIr.

Also go to "Game Updates" in the TIR software.

Is the light coming on that signifies your trackir sees the game? You have two lights, one for when it sees the headset and one when it sees the game.

I am using the TrackIR_5.0.Final.b. The higher ones don't work with the Trackclip pro.

You probably don't have any other ED product correct? Go into your game list and make sure you see DCS A-10C or DCS Blackshark or just Blackshark.

No I only have the P51 plane. I see the icons of the others in the bottom left corner of the main menu. But I still have to buy them.

For the games list, go into your trackir software and see if they are in there.

I installed DCS World and P51 yesterday. Track IR was not recognized. I deleteed the software and installed the latest software which included a 64 bit driver for my track ir 5. That fixed it

I just tried it, but my Track Ir isn't working with the latest version. So that doesn't really work for me.

Why does your pro clip not work with the latest version? Something is wrong there...Seems odd, certainly works on mine.

Not sure what it is. But when I install a version above 5.0 Final B my trackir isn't detected by the software.

Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in? Are you also saying that your trackir software isn't detecting your trackir?

Here is what my TrackIR says in the top left corner (plus the ? button and the About TrackIR dialog).

 

It might help others here if you can confirm your Track IR device and Software versions.

 

 

With this combo Track IR works for me in DCS: World + DCS: P-51D. It shows up under the Options section of the DCS: World GUI under the Axis Commands portion of the P-51D list.

 

That might not be clear

 

Run DCS: World and go to Options, then Controls (working from memory here). Select the P-51D, then in the drop down to the right, select Axis Commands (or something like that) and see if the Track IR device shows up there.

Well I mailed Natural Point, and they confirm I need the latest update because P51 is a 64 bit game/sim. Unfortunately those latest version are not working for me.

He also said that 4.1038 should work with DCS. I didn't try that yet, but I will. If it works I'll post my results.

It's a shame tho, that I can't use the latest Track Ir software. Weird.

Alright you have got to answer questions my friend....

 

Does your trackir software "see" your trackir hardware? I have asked this three times without an answer - this is for clarification because that's the problem it looks like you are describing. Whereas in your OP you were describing it as not working with DCS software.

 

Next, which hardware are you running?

 

Next, When you upgrade your trackir software what exactly happens when your hardware is not recognized?

 

Next, what process are you going through to upgrade your trackir software?

 

Next, what version of windows are you running? i.e. win7, Vista, winXP, 32bit or 64bit.

 

Next, have you tried a different USB port? You may be plugged into an old usb 1.1 port and it cold be causing problems. Ensure that you are plugged into a usb 2.0 port and not a usb 3.0 or 1.1 port. Now the usb 1.1 shouldn't be a problem, but let's start eliminating variables.

 

Next, download a completely fresh installer for the latest trackir software. Do complete uninstall of trackir and install fresh with the latest software.

I seem to have a similar problem.

 

TrackIR works fine in FC2, DCS:BS and DCS:A-10C, but not in DCS World.

It doesn't show up in the options -> controls settings.

 

I use a TrackIR 4 unit with TrackIR 5 software.

I have run the Game Updates in the TrackIR software, it shows DCS:A-10C in the list.

 

One thing I can think of is that maybe the source of the problem is that my TrackIR software is 32 bit and maybe P-51 is 64 bit.

 

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.
