Guess you guys dont see it the same as i do....First off, its not free...I payed to get LOMAC FC, BS, A-10, BS2...ED or DCS has never given me anything for free......but that was not the original point......The point is I dont care how much work it takes to make a new pit, If that su-25t came with a new 3d/ full clickable pit, weather I liked the plane or not I would have put 1000 hours into learnoing to use all the equipment in it. But since it came with 1980's crap, I simply dont care what it is, I dont want to learn to fly it(could have been a naked chick with a sadle and if it aint 3d and clickable idk) Releasing old content and telling me to be thankful is not going to get you anywhere with my wallet......BUT if you make a full clickable 3d badass cockpit it wouldnot have mattered what it was and I would have put alot of time into it (blackshark russian deathtrap)........alls my first post basiclly said is I'm not impressed......sorry so many of you got butthurt.......And to the DEVS (and Nate)....in my first post I gave you mad props by saying things like "top of the line" and "best combat sim to date"....I love all the work you guys have done over the years....I simply dont agree with your decision of the bringing ANY 2d pits into the new DCS World....end of statment....i surely dont expect you to care....

It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.

Would I love a 3D pit? Of course, I just don't expect it for free, which the SU-25 is. My issue with you is your language. Last time I checked the SU-25 is far ahead of "1980's crap" and telling the devs to "get their shit together" is beyond acceptable.

Your coming off as a complete goof.

It might not bring ED anywhere close to your wallet, but that doesn't really matter. You already know what DCS is about, and you can choose to buy or not.

I guess you do kind of a have a point in that new people may be put off by a 2D cockpit, but you don't know this for certain which means you've really blown things out of proportion.

I'm willing to bet that most people who have downloaded DCS World are people who have followed DCS for a long while and are familiar with ED and/or found it as a surprise when purchasing DCS Mustang. All of those null the point about setting a false impression on the level of realism/detail that the DCS series offers.

I've been spreading the word about DCS World and so far, I've only seen positive feedback. No one seems to care that the cockpit it 2D, and no one will makes the mistake of thinking that 2D is the norm for DCS because I've made sure to tell them otherwise, and the only people that I've had to tell are people who probably wouldn't have known about DCS without me spreading the word.

And on a side note, a free DCS module with a DCS'a AFM and near fully functional mission editor is something I could not pass up, and I'm a fighter guy who has never flown a ground attack plane in FC multiplayer, am terrible with Russian cockpits, and who is familiar with Falcon. It's like I've told everyone I know, at $0, DCS World is one of the best sims you can get.

"Releasing old content and telling me to be thankful is not going to get you anywhere with my wallet..."

Again, your wallet is not what the Su-25T in DCS World is about. You are not required to pay for it to get it. The fact that you own a different product that includes it is irrelevant. If that is the case then this isn't for you. (Except you'll benefit in MP, since you now have a SEAD/DEAD buddy for multiplayer that is human-controllable. That's not insignificant.)

This is there to give people who have never flown an ED product something to fly. If you want DCS modules, fly them. But one of the most common complaints is that there is no demo for these simulators.

Well, now there pretty much is.

That's all there is to it. If you are already a customer, well, you don't need a demo then, right?

And I strongly suggest that you take a step back and review your tone. You don't seem to understand quite how your language makes you come across. Please take a moment to review rule 1.10. Thankyou.

didnt mean the su-25 was 80's crap....the 2d non clickable pit is though...think you misread me....I dont own a modern $3k gaming pc to fly 2d sims...thats why I choose to buy DCS products (3D)......the second post in this thread was the most intellegent comment to me because they clearly stated the differenses between DCS and FC3..... now I know

It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.

I've been spreading the word about DCS World...

Reading your post caused me to recall how AOL discs were available anywhere you went (convenience store, grocery stores, tucked into magazines, etc.) a few years back. WOW does it similar but not as pervasive.

I know it would not be worth the expense but I am still picturing the free 'DCS World introductory package'. Put a couple of video clips from the other products on the disc as teasers and you are all set.;)

I've got a 3D pit thanks to post 14 in this epic thread. I've also now got SEAD, which i never had before, and a faster and arguably better anti runway delivery. The top speed feels better than A10 on the floor, which is fun, I've got rocket powered bombs and I've paid precisely nothing for it. Thanks Eagle Dynamics, again!

I didnt even KNOW there was a 3d pit for the toad! Thank god for whiners, I would have never seen this mod.

And anyone who EVER complains about a product that is free.....never stick your finger up the anus of the horse you got for free; it just might kick you in the head.

There's a difference though; those are actual 2D pits - as in, there is no depth to the rendering of the "pit".

This is not true for the pit of the Su-25.

I would, for example, point out that the pits in question are more advanced than when MSFS started advertising "3D cockpit" as a major feature to make people upgrade. That was a long time ago, it was not clickable, but at the time no-one anywhere thought of it as anything other than a "3D cockpit" because it was a 3D object.

I do understand what it is you are actually wanting, but you do have to understand that you coated it in words that make it ripe for misunderstanding and taking offence. ;)

I'm going to close this thread now - it seems the topic has been exhausted.
