GriffonBR Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Good evening guys. I'll take this topic to talk about some things that are happening in DCS World and Lock On FC2 Since I upgraded my computer to a i5 2500K @ 4ghz + Intel DZ68ZV + R6850 1GB + Corsair 8GB Vengeance 1333mhz to start to play DCS P-51D Mustang, I can´t get more than 20 FPS at DCS World, Fortunately I have not bought DCS Mustang yet just because of this problems. I´m running DirectX 11. I'm having many problems with low FPS, the game are unplayable. Does anybody knows what is happening? Thanks you Luis Felipy Intel 8700K@4.7ghz(all cores) / 32Gb DDR4 /WD Black SN750 Heatsink 500gb (DCS Only) / MSI GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8G / Windows 10 PRO / VPC WarBRD Base + Warthog Stick + Foxx Mount / Thrustmaster TPR pedals / Thustmaster MFD / Thrustmaster Warthog throttle + Monstertech chair mount
bird-1 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Most of the time the fps is about 40~50 when graphics option is "high", resolution is 1680x1050. armaholicbr Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hey Griffon, Do you have ATI's latest drivers installed? What about your other games, are their performance normal? It's a weird issue, you have a good machine and should be able to play it with higher framerates. When was the last time you had to format? I've had some performance problems in the past, then I found out it was a virus/malware.. Hope you can get your problems sorted out! @OFF: Brasileiro? Voando.org - Brazilian Flight Community
shabo Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 what kind of fps are you getting on the ground vs. the air? Are you on a multiplayer server? Are there lots of objects in the mission? Is there a lot of AI flying around? There could be several dozen reasons why your fps are "low." We would need more info from you to help you out. pacotito Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Check your ccc settings for aa and af and make sure they are set to application controlled. I was getting about 25fps in sim and 10-15fps after my prop hit the ground and I was going down. After I switched to application controlled I was around 50fps and 40-45 when about to crash Pacotito I7-5820k@4.5 Z99 extreme4 16gb ddr4 520gb ssd. Gigabyte ssc GTX960 SSC 4gb
GriffonBR Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Hi guys, thanks for the help. I changed my Catalyst (last version) to the 12.2 and as pacotito said and things are running perfect now, but only for DCS World. Now, my Flaming Cliffs 2 and my Il-2 46 are running so ugly without AA and AF. Theres any way to set some kind of setup for these games that don´t mess up the performance of DCS World at all? Abraço e obrigado pela ajuda. pacotito Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) If there is in game af and aa settings use those. If not you can make a ccc profile for those games but you will have too switch profiles in the ccc when switching games. There may be an auto profile switcher that will change the settings when you load a program but Im not sure. I haven't played around with ccc to much. Make sure youre using adaptive multisample and not super sample as well. Super sample has a huge effect on framerate. armaholicbr Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Exactly, Catalyst should allow you to set custom profiles for each game. For example, you could set up AA 8X and AF 16X for IL-2 1946 and different settings for FC2/DCS World. @OFF: Saaalve! É só setar um profile para os jogos, cada um com as opções desejadas. gavagai Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 We figured out that his fps problem was due to the msffb2 joystick: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103586 You can measure your fps with the in-game fps counter: right ctrl-pause on the keyboard. whartsell Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 For you ATI users out there, Im sure you notice that the Catalyst CCC sucks. I started using Radeon Pro a while back and love it. It will override your CCC settings and i like its auto loading of profiles and ability to tweak things to more detail (of course you could really make a mess of things as well).
