YakobeGrizzlyLepotyv Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 So what is happening is that as soon as I get into the cockpit the aircraft is constantly holding the starter switch but it isn't even being held in the up position? I thought that it might just be on start up but it shuts my engines off as soon as Ii get into the aircraft even while in the air. I have re-installed it once already to no success and have to keep DCS: World unpatched to fly the aircraft. for any help that is given on the subject, Thanks in advance ^_^ _________________________________________________ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Vipers 406 http://www.vipers406.com/ 62nd Fighting Falcons http://www.62ndfightingfalcons.asn.au/ Jesus is coming, Look busy.
ESzczesniak Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I would hazard to guess that somewhere a joystick or keyboard switch got assigned to the engine starter. Check and make sure that if anything is assigned to this in the controls, that it's only a momentary button and not a constant on switch.
EtherealN Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Simplest solution is to delete or rename the following folder: C:\Users\(username)\Saved Games\DCS Do this while DCS world is turned off. It will then recreate the folder to defaults once you start the application again. Note that a reinstall of the application might have left this folder intact, and if it is corrupted, the problem would then remain. Renaming it would allow you to retain your configuration if this does not solve the problem, through simply deleting the new folder and renaming the folder back to it's original name. tietze Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I have a similar problem. The engine starts all the time without any interaction. I've disconnected all controllers (except mouse and keyboard). Deleted the DCS folder inside Saved Games, but still the engine does starts up and shuts down all the time, as described in the debriefing: Please fix the KA-50 bugs :-) Black Shark: Controller profile & setup, TrackIR profile, pit. Warthog HOTAS: Lubing the stick and extending the stick. Posts on howto customize switches in DCS & . Must-have mods for DCS World and KA-50 (mostly JSGME). Casual couch pilot, watching capped.tv...

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
tietze Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Well didn't notice until now, but it is not the P-51D that starts up and shuts down as I thought it was. Hmmm. But still there is a sound all the time like the starter is running. Please fix the KA-50 bugs :-) Black Shark: Controller profile & setup, TrackIR profile, pit. PeterP Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 if the problem still persist: The Devs/Testers need at least a track - so they can reproduce it and/or see in the logs what is causing this behaviour. have a look: TROUBLESHOOTING - Help us helping you.

Thanks - I was just assuming I had forgotten something stupid :joystick: Track is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2910357/fsim/Threads/ED%20-%20broken%20engine/starter.7z I have just installed DCS World and the P51D module. Chose instant action/ Cold Start Vaziani. Tried to delete the DCS folder, to recreate config files. Tried to remove all controllers. Still this annoying noise as recorded above and probably also to be heard in the above track.
