chromium Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Hi, I have a question for those that can use the Black Shark in DCS World Beta (I can't: still own the upgrade version): What happen when someone use another helicopter as client? If it's flyable, which cockpit is available for the user (Ka-50 or SU-25T)? Clarification: I'm asking for transport helicopters (UH-60, CH-47, Mi-8), not for others attack helicopters... I'm not interested in using weapons systems :) Thanks for the info :) Edited May 26, 2012 by chromium Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Github for latest version: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC
pepin1234 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Well about one tranport Heli in our Sim... I think some people dont think how important will be a trasport Heli when we talk about a realistic mission, big mistake. The enjoy level will be present. If ED put into DCS World or FC3 one Heli. I think we have two different candidate. The best for cargo vehicle is the CH-47 and the best for troopers is the Mi-8/17. The UH-60 Black Hawk is out, look here: Wiki: On 28 October 2008 the Royal Thai Army announced a deal to buy 6 Mi-17s to meet its requirement for a medium-lift helicopter. This is the first time the Thai military has acquired Russian aircraft instead of American.[6] Flight International quotes the Thai army’s rationale: "We are buying three Mi-17 helicopters for the price of one Black Hawk. The Mi-17 can also carry more than 30 troops, while the Black Hawk could carry only 13 soldiers. These were the key factors behind the decision."[7] [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
chromium Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 ok but i'm not asking for a mod or a module :). I'm only try to understand which cockpit you will see if you choose one of those Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Github for latest version: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC
xxJohnxx Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 You can't choose one of them. So you won't see any cockpit. At least this is my understanding of the actual version of DCS World. Corrigan Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 The only heli you can fly in any iteration of DCS is the Ka-50. Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
Jona33 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 At the moment all aircraft can be set to client. This may include helicopters. My guess would be the -25T pit since it's free. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
chromium Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 As said by Jona, any aircraft can be set as client and, if I understand right, you can jump into one of them and see the 25T cockpit. We can only wait for someone owning BS2 in world to do a test... or wait for final release and me to test that :) Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Github for latest version: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC
Pikey Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 I dont have BS2 yet, but I don't believe it will work because the application acts differently when you set a chopper as client. You get an SU-25t pit when setting a plane as client - possibly expected since it is the free default plane if you like. When you set a chopper it goes to the map screen making me think that even if you had BS2 added it wouldn't give you the BS2 pit (yet). Now if i knew how to put a pit for a plane/chopper, we would be able to put in our own pits, even those of BS1 etc, but i've asked around and nothing said about this. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
joey45 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 No, It does not work. Just tried it. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
