Well to keep up with modern appearances F-16 Block 50/52 is the best AESA Radar, FCLS, HUD, better avionics updates, JHMCS capable, better weapons loadout etc

Da best

You are already making assumptions;

- They only F-16 I know with an AESA is the block 60.

- The block 50/52 uses DFLCS no FLCS.

- In the USAF, block 40, 42, 50 and 52 should now have the same capabilities, avionics and software.

- Some block 20 A models and 40 and 42 have JHMCS capabilities as well, and some countries with block 50/52 do not.

- Same goes for the weapons load out.

- Just because you fly the block 50/52 does not mean you can carry AGM-88, for example, I'm sure they may have them, but never seen Singapore carry them in practice while in Luke AFB or never seen photos of their 52 with HTS nor AGM-88.

All F-16 information depends on the block, the year, country even the tail number in some occasions.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Sorry but I wondered (looks like a noob question, but...):

What is the yellow 'thing' on the left of the picture? In front of the CMS Panel, facing the ejection safety handle. (Like a metal tripod)

Canopy safety lock or something like that?

Canopy lock handle. I covers the canopy open switch and prevents the hooks from rotating and unlocking the canopy

There are two types of aircraft: Fighters and Targets.

Any Viper with a bomb on board is no longer a fighter :D

Actually I never liked the F-16. I don't know why, there's no real, rational reason for it. Much like I don't like Harriers or Su-25's.

Maybe it's because F-15's actually do rule or something :D

( ... but I agree about Robotech :D )

There's been a lot of talk about AFM and SFM on the forums. I'm a big fan of the AFM in A-10c and I and about 90% of the community agree that we'd like to see more of the same fidelity. With the amount of countries flying the F-16C (and it's service life), it seems that an AFM would be possible. Am I wrong? And if so please tell me exactly what goes into make the flight model "advanced."

OK... I'll bite... What is AFM? And SFM?

...incidentally, the ANG trainer doesn't even seem to have a 3D pit...yuck :P

3d trainers are expensive... Most are what we call "Wooden Indians" little more than high res pictures under plexiglass arraigned so people can pull up their chair and practice checklist procedures. There are a few Pit style procedures trainers...look like a cockpit... More electronics but still no motion or graphics and finally, the full motion sims used for advanced training check rides etc.

I have photos of each style on my computer at home and I'm post some later.
