Has anyone got one of these and managed to set it to work with flaps/prop rpm/mixture in the P-51?

Everytime I try to edit in options it configures it as an axis for pitch/roll.... really frustrating. Does anyone have a profile for this?

Cheers..... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

I wouldn't know. But my advice, since you got a prop/mix/ etc lever system, why not push an extra buck and get the trim wheels too? I'm seriously considering building a P-51D simpit back home. I'm just scouring the forum for updates on the Stang, but that is all.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

What do you mean 'it configures it'? Are you saying that the sim will not accept your changes or that sets it that way by default? In the latter case you just delete and reassign.

I had one, for a day, and had it configured for the three trim functions without issue. I only ditched it because the pots were too jittery to deal with.

All I want to do is use it for the Flaps, Prop control and mixture but it won't let me set it up that way. It recognises my inputs on this device as AXIS movements and tells me that movement is already assigned to roll or pitch etc. Must be an easier way to do this.

You have to delete the existing, incorrect, assignments before you can assign them where you wish. No difficulty.

EDIT: Btw, you can't control Mixture with an axis. The option does not exist.

If you are deleting things and they are not going away, then it is likely that your config file(s) are corrupt.

They are stored in this folder (assuming you are flying Real mode):

C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\P-51D

There are subfolders for different controller types. I don't have anything to compare but I would guess that the config file you want is in the 'joystick' folder. If you can identify the one that goes with the TQ (Saitek is probably in the name but I am guessing) you can delete that or just delete/rename all of them. The sim will create a new one(s) and, most likely, your problem will be fixed.

Note: If you delete/rename all of the config files you will reset any joystick/throttles you already have setup.

It does work. It tried it with mine. I had to leave the quadrant attached to the yoke, but just made sure there were no axis set for the yoke, just throttle and rpm on the quadrant. I didn't like all the controls on my desk so set my x52pro slider as rpm and it works fine.
