Shïv Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Hello everyone. I have been training on Black Shark for some time, but I was never able to start a full procedure, 'cause I cant find a mission where I have a controller replying back  when I require for a Engine Startup. Tried the fast mission creator and choose "start from Ramp" (like mentioned in some posts) but nothing happens. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading.
PepeThePilot Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) Not sure what you mean by having a "controller replying back". As far as a cold start, selecting "Start from Ramp" is the way to do it. From there either save the mission and play it through mission select, or choose "Fly Mission" from within the Editor. One "mission" which requires a full start-up that comes included in the pre-made missions is "Shooting Range". I used to run that one a lot when I first started (and didn't know how to create my own missions) just to practice the cold start. Edited June 21, 2012 by PepeThePilot
Jona33 Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Check out BigfootMSR's training missions which guide you through the start up. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

So here comes my "standard Ka-50 newbie reply" ;): Read also besides the manual this: DCS: Black Shark... Technical, Simplified -Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamics -Trimming the Ka-50 Black Shark <<<!!!! very important to understand this fully! -Part 1 - Autopilot <<<this too! -Part 2 - Autopilot And when you still have time , read this too: A Stick and Rudder Man's Guide to DCS: Black Shark Here is a useful tweak if you using real rudders: How to unchain the rudder from trim - solution Things you want to have some day too: KA-50 collective: another picture-tale Two MS FFB2 with Cougar Grip Now there should be (for the next time) no questions left! BigfootMSR Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Welcome to the Black Shark, You did not mention what version of Black Shark you are running. If you do not already have it, I would strongly recommend upgrading to BS2. BS1 is not supported anymore and BS2 will be integrated into DCS world. The missions that I created, see PeterP's link (he always beats me to these), will only work for BS2. Happy flying! Welcome aboard Shïv :) Before doing the radio request, press F10 to bring up your map and click on the airport/FARP symbol where you are located. In your lower right corner you should now see a info box including ATC frequency. Set your radio to this frequency. Happy flying :)
