Hi all,

I have noticed for the first time now with DCS World 1.2.0 that you get a pop up screen bottom right hand corner saying (The Color scheme has been changed to windows 7 basic, A running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of windows) like you do with Microsoft FSX when loading a mission. I have not seen this happen in any previous versions of DCS.

Has anyone else seen this? should this be happening now?

Cheers

For all those running Helios you want to unselect it. Helios needs aero running.

There's a new option called "Disable Aero Desktop" in the options screen.

Unselect it and it should be ok.

Thank you Nirvi, that fixed it.

What's the advantage of disabling Aero?

eats more video ram. and disables other .dll's for full screen and colors.

Aero can "hog" graphics resources on the computer, so if you want to get some extra horsepowers for your game you can consider disabling Aero. I don't know how much of a difference it'll make though.

Windows 7 will also sometimes propose the change on it's own, if it is detecting that this might benefit you. this is basically a Windows function, not something directly tied to a specific game, AFAIK.

Yes, I was having this same problem and like the fix posted below it all has to do with the disabling the "aero" button under the Options menu.

Not only does this "aero" button affect the Windows 7 color scheme compatibility but more importantly, it will prevent you from using your mouse to select the "Quit" button after hitting the ESC key when in the Training Missions.

This is such a critical button for most, if not all, Windows 7 users and I don't know why the programmers left this button un-checked by default???

Mastiff, I know it's old, but what did you mean by USB needed Aero? You wanted to enable Aero for 'USB's' by unticking that 'Disable' box, didn't you? Could you elaborate on this?

Thanks,

Sabre.

I'm guessing he meant USB monitors, which some people use to export the MFCDs. (Coupled with those MFCD button rings you can buy, this can make a really nice controller on the A-10C.)

Yes, now it makes sense.
