It works consistently to go from area to point lock when TGP is soi but ths does not make the locked target the spi. Does seem to work well when HUD is soi. I am using the thrust master warthog HOTAS.
AceKng1 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I have not had this problem. Are you sure you are holding it long enough? Sometimes it seems like a really long time, especially when you are trying to move on to doing other things. You say it works consistently to go from area to point lock when TGP is SOI but this command is actually TMS Up Short. If you do TMS Up Long while TGP is SOI it sets your SPI to whatever the TGP is currently aimed at.

TMS up long does NOT work as advertised...lock target with TMS op short, then try TMS up long to make spi..nothing happens! Could the swith be defective..? Does not seem likely, especially since up short works always. Frustrating!

I am using the thrust master warthog HOTAS. Not sure I understand the issue here. The TAD is not capable of designating an SPI as per your comparison with the TGP. In order to set the SPI on the TAD with the TAD as SOI, you first need to hook a TAD symbol in order to activate the "set sensor as SPI" function, where-after the TAD symbol you just hooked can then be set as SPI. Belisarius Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 I FIGURED OUT MY PROBLEM!! It's all in the details. I missed the difference between passive and active hooking. To make something SPI on the TAD must do TMS forward short to ACTIVE hook then TMS forward long. So simple . What a dope! Thanks all.
