Hi guys,

is "Fire at point" already implemented in this beta?

Yesterday I tried it with a Paladin artillery.

I set a target and adjusted the radius but the Paladin was doing nothing.

I know ca. 3min.

But the Paladin was really doing nothing.

Normally the artillery should immediately rotate the turret, aim for the target and then (after 3min) shooting.

But it was doing nothing. No movement, no rotation nothing.

I tried it with the 2S19. Set a target about 9km away, radius 20m and waited...and waited... I think went back to the 2S19 via F7 and hit ALT+J to go "aboard" the unit. I then ALT+J'd again and that's when the turret traversed to firing position. Finally after a few minutes it fired.

IMHO, it takes way to long. For real artillery, initial set-up includes (but not limited to) getting your centre of arc, left and right of arc. AFAIK, danger/ricochet trace preparation isn't being done, so ignore that. Once you have your fire mission from the CP across the tanoy (for example, "HE quick charge 4, Radius 100, 3 rounds fire for effect, at my command, fire), your # 3 and 4 correct the bearing and elevation, your loader adjusts the desired fuse and charge setting and you load, and you wait for the fire control order to engage. Except for the initial setup when getting to position, the actual fire mission take seconds. After, for example again, the 3 rounds are fired, corrections are made from the OP on the fall of the shots and relayed back to your gun position via the CP, you react to the new fire command, such as "Drop 200, left 100, 2 rounds, fire for effect".

So lets assume that the time modelled for the artillery in game begins at the reciept of the fire mission, the process should only take max one minute for rounds down range.. That was alot more explanation than needed, but just my opinion..
