112th_Rossi Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Could someone clear something up for me (it's probably in the manual but I don't have it to hand) I've done missions with realistic coms enabled. JTAC is on an FM frequency but I can never contact them. I set the bottom most radio to its frequency and set it to FM but nothing... Help?
Rongor Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Could you please tell more details? So far there is nothing to determine the problem. What is the exact frequency? What do you mean with "I set the bottom most radio (...) to FM"? The left of the three radios is FM only, so I am unsure what to understand by your saying. Did you put the rotary selector dial on the intercom control panel on FM? Is the radio switched on? Could you provide a screenshot?
EtherealN Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Did you key that radio when opening the radio menu? 112th_Rossi Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Ok... sorry I'll elaborate: 1. Fly to area where JTAC is supposed to be 2. On my radio stack. There UHF AM, VHF (the digital looking one) and below that the FM radio (I assume) 3. I set this to what ever frequency is required say, 40mhz FM. And turn the dial to TK and move the frequency dial over to FM the left most option (but I think this is the emergency channel?) 4. I press the # key to bring up the radio menu and call JTAC. 5. Nothing happens.
Corrigan Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I think there's a dedicated key command for each radio (cf. the three positions of the radio switch on the hotas) -- you need to make sure you're operating the correct radio. :) Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
112th_Rossi Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I suspected as much. As the AM radio says AM in it's title.
Rongor Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 And turn the dial to TK and move the frequency dial over to FM the left most option (but I think this is the emergency channel?) Turning the frequency mode dial to TK is correct to switch the radio on. To enable the radio switching to the set frequency you have to set the frequency selector dial to MAN and not to EMER FM nor EMER AM nor PRE.
Rongor Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 You may want to read pages 140 to 146 in the manual. It never hurts to learn something about all those gadgets in your ship ;)
