Cowboy10uk Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Cheers mate, I'm using the H50 on my current machine with no issues, however looking round the net, it's looking like the H100 is having quite a few. Difficult on one site the H100 is the best thing since sliced bread, then on another site almost everyone is saying don't touch it with a barge pole. :( Such contradictions make choosing the cooler bloody difficult. I do thik it would look alot better than a heat sink on the new system, but of course I don't want any issues with it frying the 3570k when I attempt to overclock, considering how hot it gets. The Noctua is certainly the best air cooler out there, but it's whether it would be too big for the system. Decisions Decisions Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot

Cowboy10uk Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Well after reading up and changing my Mind, god knows how many times, I've finally made a decision - Noctrua ND-D14 has been ordered. The large amount of pump issues reported about the H100 finally made my decision. Fingers crossed I won't regret it. + I found a bloody good deal on the Noctura which made it half the price of the H100. I'll put the savings towards the gaming mouse. MTFDarkEagle Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Using the NH-D14 on my system: bloody solid piece of cooling! I would recommend that kit to anyone! (if it fits LOL! :D) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
joey45 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Just Googled the Noctrua ND-D14.............................. **** ** it's big. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. MTFDarkEagle Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Just Googled the Noctrua ND-D14.............................. **** ** it's big. Yep! After measuring my spacing in the case and looking at the datasheets on their website I thought: oooh that will fit. Once I had it in my had I nearly sh*t myself :D It fitted, but only JUST ;) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Cowboy10uk Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Well I've got the Coolermaster Stormtrooper case sat patently to be filled at mo. ;) which is the biggest case I have ever owned, damn it only just fits under the desk. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will fit. However if you hear a loud scream in next few weeks, you'll know it dosnt ;) Good to hear that someone else here uses it and likes it. Makes me feel like I've made the right choice after all. :D Cowboy10uk Edited August 10, 2012 by Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
Cali Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 My GTX 670 FTW works very good for DCS, BMS and Arma. I was thinking of getting the 680, but saved about $100 dollars for a card that's a tad bit better. Either way your gonna love the new system. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

Certainly hope so, currently using the GTX680 with my current specs in my sig. Must say DCS runs great with that, although I do have a couple of settings turned down to medium. Hoping the new sys will run it all at max, just in time for all these new stunning aircraft heading our way. :D Love getting home from work at mo as every day is like Xmas with new parcels turning up as I find the best deal. Only problem is, I want to build the thing now rather than next month. ;) Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
