Small issue and question

Im enjoying DSC world. Love the explosions. Finally got a Hotas Controler:thumbup::thumbup:

 

My small issue is when im starting a mission a zoom out my self before unpausing the game. While im doing that I get a sound from windows. The same sound that you get when you raise of lower the volume in windows. It happens when touching any key. I have to pause DSC open task manager close it the go back to the game.

 

Question

I have the Peanut camo installed in on A 10c by mod modman. I would like to add the skin to DSC world but I dont know how. No modman for World

Let me rephrase. When I start a mission if I press any key there is a sound ( the sound is the same as when you move the slider for your volume in windows 7). If i press a key once it will sound once. If I press and hold the sound repeats. If i play a mission it lags and sometimes justs locks up . But If I pause the game open the task manager then close the task manager window the sound goes away and the game runs fine.

This sounds like the alt-tab bug. First, make sure the disable aero box in options is unchecked. If it is currently checked, see if unchecking it fixes your problem. If not, try simply alt-tabbing out of the game and back in before starting the mission.

OH you actually meant the task manager by "closing"..my bad that didn't sound likely so I though I miss something else.

I never had that sound in this context but just in case ...do you have "disable aero" checked in options?

What and where is aero box.

It's in the display settings, if unchecked windows aero is allowed.

Believe it or not that option is not in my DSC World, DSCA10c or Black Shark. Dont know if this matters but I only have A10 c module installed in World.

Are you sure you are running World 1.2.0, the option is a World option and has nothing to do with what module you have installed? That option did not exist in the previous version. If the option is not there and you believe that you have installed v1.2.0 then something is very wrong.

That in fact doesn't speak for having DCSworld 1.2.0 installed. Can you check or send a screenshot of your main menu?

De-install current DCSW including modules completely!

Hope that funny sound thing is gone then.

I did the unistall of 1.1 and new install of 1.2. I just noticed that if my number lock is off it stops. Try this to see if you get the same problem. Num lock on right click on task bar and leave it up and hit any number key. Thats what im getting. Also when I start a mission I get a message from windows that my scheme is going to Windows 7 basic for a compatibility. Something new from DSC ????

What windows tries to do by switching the theme is the same thing...switching Aero off.

This is to improve performance a little bit but you do have other issues then.

So don't use that feature and leave Aero on ...its not worth it.

 

Not sure about the numlock thing.

Leave that, I think it's a modman thing, manually you shouldn't need it.
