Speacy Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Hi, Im wrong or the Fuel Tank are empty and not increase the KA-50 fuel capacity since DCS world? TurboHog Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Hi, Im wrong or the Fuel Tank are empty and not increase the KA-50 fuel capacity since DCS world? I've used it only once since DCSW and IIRC the fuel tanks were used first as no fuel was used from my main tanks... Have to test this again though to be absolutely sure... 'Frett'
Speacy Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Im wrong sorry for disturb :) , i know the external tank used first but i was surprised to see the TFW not increased on the editor when we add tanks, and i have tried to start engines without fuel in main tank to test the external, but it doesn't work so i thought it was a bug but the bug was me :D . I have tried to stay hoover a long time to verify fuel consumption, indeed the gauge decrease only when external tanks are empty. Sorry for my english, i don't speak well Edited August 18, 2012 by Speacy [sIGPIC]http://355th.fr/public/style_images/Speacy.png[/sIGPIC]
TurboHog Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Confirmed now they work fine. Started a flight with fuel tanks. In the Rearm and Refuel window the amount of fuel was still 100% after 30 mins of flight. When I dropped them I could see that the engines started to consume from the internal tanks. Of course also confirmed by the fuel gauge. Don't forget boost pumps for your externals! 'Frett'
xentxo Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Manual for BS1 says in "Performance Characteristics": full fuel tanks = 1870 liter. The Fuel Quantity Indicator says: max fuel = 1450 kg (forward fuel tank: 705kg plus rear fuel tank: 745kg) - Does that mean 1 liter KA-50 fuel weights only 0.775 kg ? - So 1 external fuel tank of 550 liter weights only 426.5 kg? - So with a given 1000kg fuel flow per hour (cruise mode) 1 external fuel tank lasts only 25.5 minutes ?
AlphaOneSix Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) - Does that mean 1 liter KA-50 fuel weights only 0.775 kg ? - So 1 external fuel tank of 550 liter weights only 426.5 kg? These are correct. - So with a given 1000kg fuel flow per hour (cruise mode) This is not correct, did you get this number from the manual? It should be more like 600-650kg/hour. The fuel in a single external fuel tank on the Ka-50 should last 40-45 minutes. Edited July 24, 2013 by AlphaOneSix
xentxo Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Thanks for clarification. If I am not mistaken ABRIS site in BS1 says 790 kg per hour fuel flow in cruise mode. Edited July 24, 2013 by xentxo
AlphaOneSix Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Thanks for clarification. If I am not mistaken ABRIS site in BS1 says 790 kg per hour fuel flow in cruise mode. I think you can set the fuel burn in the ABRIS to whatever you want. It has no interface to the aircraft itself anyway, so it doesn't know the actual fuel burn. I just ran a quick test: I burned ~700kg/hour in cruise (195km/hr) and ~800kg per hour in a hover.
