Love that hub - I have the exact one. Be aware that I've had issues with connecting certain devices through it. Simple stuff like the MFDs work fine, but I'm guaranteed to crash my iPhone if it's plugged in there.

I'm finding that out! For instance My Saitek X52 Pro needs to be directly connected to my system. Otherwise, it has issues. Not even a single USB extension works. For some reason my A-10 wants to nose dive out of auto pilot. Also the powered USB hub you see in this picture sucks. I thought it would be nice to have a power switch for some USB devices but it is a cheap piece of craftsmanship!

You need to look into replacing your upper monitor with a big screen tv. You'll be set then.

My new left and right consoles. I will be adding the angled part that houses the fuel, aux lighting, electrical, caution, CMSP panels separately. I need to make the name for this build The Dremel Pit because it's the only tool I've used to cut all the pieces.

Happy Halloween! Here is a pic of my "Portable Dremel Pit".

The pic is of the two boxes that I sprayed with gloss white on the inside and primer grey on the outside. Also in this pic you'll see several pieces of 1/4" wood strips that I'm going to line the top inside edge of each box. And in those protective films are 1/4" thick translucent white acrylic. Basically I'm going to make a light box.

I made several files in Photoshop using Reactorone's files and images from CapLoz's Helios profile. I plan on laying one set of these images over the light boxes. I'm either going to just print them on my printer using an 8.5 x 11 adhesive label or see if I can get them reverse printed on some clear film. We'll see. Option A and C do not have any knobs/dials. Option B and D do. I just don't like having blank spots. I'm most likely going to use option A and just drill holes as I add more dials and switches. The big white blank area is for my X52 Pro throttle. I'm also going to try to convert option A to vector data for re-sizing. I'll post the PSD, and AI files once everthing is done if anyone wants to use them. :)

Loz's panels do have one typo. On the Enviroment panel it says "Flow Fuel" on the lower left knob it should be "Flow Level"

don't forget the An/ARC panels are way out of size

Go with your plan for A. That will look pretty nice if you can getting good results printing it.

Slight modification to option A. I removed the bezel and light from the environmental panel and added the CDU keys and screen. I also added small breaks between the panels to help define each panel. I think it's going to look sweet when it's backlit!

The only potential 'gotcha' I see with that is that you are going to have an extremely high gloss finish when you are looking at the 'back' of the film. A clear matte sprayed on coating might be something to consider.

 

Otherwise is seems like it will work quite well.

I made a copy of the Right outside console so it is vector data for re-sizing. I have also included it as a pdf. Dimensions are 5.75" x 23.25". I'm going to put them all in one file and try to get them printed on transparency film. The zip file is in .ai(Adobe Illustrator) format. I'll upload more as I finish them.

The latest flight manual pdf still shows it as "Flow Fuel" but in the text and indeed of course in the game it is correctly called the "FLOW LEVEL"

 

I have changed my .png for the panel accordingly.

I have completed both Left inside and outside consoles. I did have a problem with the white orange and black caution lines around the EFC panel. I put them on a different layer but not to sure how to crop them. Illustrator is different like that. I'm not that proficient in Illustrator. If anyone could fix that and re upload I would appreciate it.

Was able to make a little progress on my left and right consoles. I got a 16ft roll of RGB LEDs and a remote control

Now I just need to print the console images on transparency film, cut the holes, mount and wire up the switches. Then on to the fuel panel section and caution panel and electrical panel box builds.

Got got my files back from a friend who set them up for printing. Again, I'm hoping to find someone who can print these 5.75" by 23.25" size panels on transparency film. I was thinking of reverse printing them so the printed side will be face down on the white translucent acrylic and then backlit.

So with a little bit of Photoshop I was able to take a picture of my panels and overlay my panel images. Hopefully they turn out like this.

One remark though - the white frame around the keyboard isn't lighted on the original CDU. Might save some work to know this.

I'm not going for exact replica. I think it looks cool and it is in the game. Here is a screenshot from the game;

It sure looks nice, but it'll be some additional effort, you don't need if you do it as on the original part. The original keyboard frame is solid black plastic (I know because of the damage on mine) and sparypainted white on the inside for better light distribution for the buttons.
