AMD HD 7970 3Gb here..Maxed settings (Med water, no heat blur) and using Kuky's modified High.lua (increased visibility distance) and I get 30-40 FPS in the city in an Hog pit, up to 100+ FPS at altitude, depending where I look, average 50-60.

If you wish, I can add it.

So everyone could answer... Good idea. Thanks.

I'm impressed that by now the majority of users have 1024 =+ cards.

It's only 70 votes, so not really representative of the whole community but it's to be considered that DCS users are to invest in GPU (and by extension other components of their PC) to pull the perfs upper. (I imagined 512Mb / 1024Mb to be the 'upper stages' of the gauss line)

Maybe I'm getting old, indeed we're late 2012, 1024=+ sounds to be the least for gaming.

Unfortunately I couldn't stick it into the middle, so the "sequence" isn't quite as pretty as it could be, but the option is in there now. :)

GTX 560 TI 1024Mb here. I run Most settings high, water and shadows medium, no heat blur, no civ traffic, no mirrors.

While playing my GPU temp maxes out at 64c, fan 75%, usage 99%, memory 1014Mb. Single monitor 1920x1080.

Just bought it last year so might have to make do for awhile, I'm pretty happy with the way the sim plays.

I plan to change from my HD5870 and hesitate between:

- Fast but expensive and 2Gb NVidia GTX670

- Much accessible and 3Gb but slower HD 7950

I investigated a bit and it seems that DCS-W uses up to 1900Mb VRAM with single FullHD screen (as I've seen through the forum)

Any advise? :helpsmilie:

I love your avatar, Mustang. You don't need to say anything when someone has anger against odds and bugs in the sim... That's proactive!

2gb HD 4670 and it crawls in DCSW even when all settings on wimp. Amount of VRAM doesn't mean doo-doo.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
