wmar67 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I don't know if this belongs in DCS World - but as it applies to both Su-25T and Ka-50... I downloaded the training videos for these sims, installed them and they seemed to go in the DCS folder I have for DCS World - but when I go in game and click any of the links for training the error DCS World has stopped responding and bombs to desktop. Any ideas?
Ironhand Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Since they're videos, anyway, the easiest solution is to watch them from your Desktop. You don't even need to start DCS World. wmar67 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 I can't find where it buried the videos in the DCS World folder - and don't know what they're called
YoYo Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Try this: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/video/world/su_25t? And this: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/206863/ (subject: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666) Works for 1.2.0, dont know yet about 1.2.1 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 5090 32Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
Ironhand Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) I can't find where it buried the videos in the DCS World folder - and don't know what they're called Sorry. I should have anticipated that. For the 25T, they're in: (YOUR DCS INSTALLATION)\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Su-25T\Missions\EN\Training. For the Ka-50 (which I don't have installed and, therefore, can't check) I think your would substitute "Ka-50" for the "Su-25T" folder. The lesson.lua file in each lesson folder, will tell you what the lesson is, if you are looking for a specific lesson. You can open a LUA file with Notepad. Kusch Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Ironhand you live! I thank God :) Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
wmar67 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks YoYo - the link to the hotfix corrected the problem. Thanks also Ironhand. I didn't pay attention to where they were being installed - just that they were in the DCS World folder - because I thought they'd be available in game (which they are now) Not wanting to "open an old wound" - what's the reason for the training videos being removed. I remember back in the day going through again and again and again the BS tutorials and they were great and extremely helpful. These are very detailed sims - any help at all is a massive plus for the player. It seems a pity to remove such helpful tools.
