Patch from 1.1.2.0 to 1.1.2.1 for DCS: World

Patch from 1.1.2.0 to 1.1.2.1 for DCS: World (English) doesnt seem to work always gives me message that 1.1.2.0 must be installed first, even though it is. Anyone else get the PATCH to work? as in do I HAVE to download the WHOLE 5gb again?!

I think you must have mixed up the versions. The latest version is 1.2.1 and _not_ the 1.1.2.1. There is no patch from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 as far as I know - you have to download the whole package.

Latest patch is 1.2.1

 

Do you have your numbers mixed up? Not the first person to do so. Too many 1s and 2s.

All I know is I had the same version everyone else was using. Now update is out and Servers are vacant, only have ONE version downloaded which is 1.1.2.0. And played that last week with other players online, so not sure which version it would otherwise be? DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205.exe is the download I have, and the new one is DCS_World_en_1.2.1.5970. sounds like I have the right version....

If that is the case and I have to DL 5 gb again that really sux because my bandwidth gets throttled.

you have confused yourself with the patch page, they should remove it to stop this confusion

Bignewy is correct. For this version, you will have to download the entire 5+gb file and do a fresh install.. However, the good news is that this version contains an auto-updater. That means future updates will not require the entire download.

Well one must agree that the majority of the DL is the same files, the update only addressed a very small portion of the entire sim. A PATCH would have been nice for those that cant DL 5gb willy nilly, but whatevs. Stoked for the finished P51D and all else anyhow, thnx ED

I believe with the implementation of some of the items such as the auto updater and several changed crucial files, they felt it was safer to download the entire thing instead of a patch. Granted, im not a tester nor am I a member of the ED team. I am a programer so I do have some appreciation and understanding of how the process works. But, I am excited to the see the implementation of a patching system. Hopefully it will work wonders to prevent this kind of frustration in the future :) Happy flying!
