Eh guys.

Just got this from one of our blackshark guys in the firehouse server from last night's gaming experience. We've been dealing with connection issues between A-10 and BS2 platforms in DCS World.

I've isolated his pertinent game files- dcs.log.old, crash logs, (no tracks- too many and too long). I have combined them with the server logs for the two missions that were run on the 16th-

The spawning in a Hind thing is just a mission editor error and we can deal with that- the crashes and connection problems might be worth a further glance.

I have opened a Gdrive folder, and am currently placing all pertinent files on a day by day basis (when warranted). I can submit tracks as well but sadly many of these issues happen in the middle of missions that are hours and hours long (it's run 24/7 provided we can keep it up.)

Anyway- here were the issues he described:

Joined the server.

Took off, then the game crashed.

Rejoined.

Took off, then Connection Interrupted.

Rejoined.

Took off and was soon blown away by a MANPADS after less than a minute of flying.

Respawned.

Took off and found the MANPADS, but the game crashed the moment I locked him up.

Rejoined.

Switched to the KA-50 at Tbilisi, which spawned me inside an AI Hind.

Hind blew up and severely damaged the KA-50.

Repaired.

Took off, but the autopilot control dampening switched itself off. Combined with the wind, I immediately drifted sideways, struck a parked SU-25 and snapped the rotor.

Repaired.

Took off, flew for a few minutes and realized it would take 1 hour 17 minutes at top speed to reach the area the hogs were flying in.

Turned around to find targets closer by, flew over a hill and was blown away by a Tunguska using both missiles and cannons on me.

Switched back to the KA-50 at the FARP I was flying earlier.

Took off, found the MANPADS again, but got Connection Interrupted while I was adjusting the camera to lock him.

Ragequit.

The folder is shared with permissions- but includes ALL files pertinent to the firehouse server connectivity issues and crashes (not many lately, actually).

Hope this data is useful to someone.

Whenever I get repeatedly dumped, I delete my network vault file and redo my login and it fixes the problem.

One person is having this problem you mention, not all, so have them try this fix next time (can't believe you went to all this trouble when only one person is having the problem. People wait months to get support here).

It costs nothing to try it.

Ummmm... well it looked like there was a response by a dev guy earlier with some chart about pirates and temperature...

Not sure what that was about-

Any other feedback? Like... are the files useful or not?

The files are somewhat useful, thanks.

Two crash file are interesting, another one is so bad, that has no valid info, unfortunately.

Many serv-man errors - looks like incompatibility issue.

Why no dcs.log files? They would be very useful. Only .old are provided, and the one I opened was not from a server session.

It was a non-transparent reply to the quote above,

Hi c0ff...

I'm only putting up what I Was told were useful in another forum- but yes if the dcs.log files are useful then I'll include both with my submissions. What's the difference between the .old and the .log? Is .old actually "old"? In addition- the only .log file I have is the .old- unless the text document dcs is the log?

There was one set of files from a client (BS2) for the 16th- but the rest are from the server side. If you're saying that servman is causing errors... then I'm going to assume those are what are contributing to the disconnects and that my solution may be to drop it?

On DCS start, existing *.log files are renamed to *.log.old to keep em just in case.

If you have explorer set to hide file extensions (by default it is), then text document dcs is the log indeed.

If you're saying that servman is causing errors... then I'm going to assume those are what are contributing to the disconnects

This is highly unlikely. Those errors just pollute the log AND may harm some minor game functionality, depending on where they occur in the ServMan scripts.

Okay! Well now I know.

I am going to be trying to keep an ongoing list of files throughout our server operation. Is that gdrive format acceptable or do you need something more specific?

It's fine.

We have found that setting your connection speed to LAN in multiplayer options for client makes a difference, regardless of your connection speed.

worth a try ?

Eh Big... yeah one of our members had passed that on before and I think everyone is on LAN now. I'm trying the public server settings out now- and things seem to be okay! Here's hoping it stays that way!

No joy on staying in the master server list- not sure what's happening but it seems to drop regularly... unfortunately I can never tell because it shows up in my LAN list.

My gdrive folder has been updated with further crash, log, .old and also mission files from missions that are particularly problematic.
