CAT_101st Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 OK so the sever shows up when I first start the sever. The mission has a 2 hr run time before auto restart/load of mission that is when my sever no longer shows up on the MP list. To get back on the list I must do a compleat shut down of DCS:MP restart DCS:MP and restart the sever. ENO Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I've seen this one come up in the multiplayer bug sections pretty regularly and suffice to say what I see in these threads (one in particular) is c0ff was able to identify "where the bug lives" and had hoped to fix it quickly a couple weeks ago. Not trying to sound sarcastic about it... just saying that they're aware of it and will fix it. I'm under the impression it was given some priority because it seems to be a pretty common problem. A couple of points to help you between now and then: If guys want to connect by IP only- the server needs to be on LAN setting. Obviously this means it won't be visible to the public. If you want to connect on server list- then there doesn't seem to be any connection to anything in particular that we can control that results in it dropping off the list. Once that drop happens, people are unable to connect via direct IP. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
BRooDJeRo Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Cant wait myself till one of the next patches where this fix is implemented... It seems to do anything with a failure in reconnecting at some point. It will be awesome when this works, but im also curious on why the connection itself drops. For some servers this doesnt seem to happen and for some it does. This might not even be masterserver related.
ENO Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Are your guys getting a lot more "connection interrupted" errors on your server brood? My BS2 guys are particularly prone to it and the A-10 guys tend to have to attempt connecting a number of times to get in. Same issues? BRooDJeRo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 This is about a hosted server not showing up. Once youre in, youre in. Its just not listed so there cant be a 'connection interupted'. Thats something different. It can also mean many things. From high ping or bad server to a slow harddisk. Its like a standard Windows error message without any valuable information. You basicly start investigating your connection and rule out anything else first. Your logs might give more clues. Theres many topics on what could be the problem. Search for it and ask there.

Hamblue Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Eno I've had that problem with your server several times. I haven't had the problem with he servers that are on the list. Will connect with IP still work if you chose to go without LAN only? Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. ENO Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Well I'm posting links to my growing collection of server and client logs that have various crash logs, server logs, client logs, mission files etc. in pertinent threads. I don't bother with track files anymore because it's obvious from my research that anything longer than 5 minutes is likely not going to be accurate enough anyway. The issue I'm describing is being in mission and clients getting connection interrupted messages. Unfortunately I'm not sure these result in crash logs... I know at least one guy who is getting these pretty consistently is sending me his logs (missed a few lately because I'm at work away from home). As for whether you can connect by IP if I'm on public / internet setting- apparently you can't do that. And Brood- we are also having the issue of being dropped off the master server list. My mention to you of the connection interrupted error was a different issue. As you said, once guys are connected- even if it drops off the master server list it doesn't affect gameplay. I kind of wish it did because then at least I'd be able to tell that the server dropped off and that nobody else would join. Your point about posting the connection interrupted issue in another thread is noted. I'll stay on target. Insofar as the logs I've accumulated so far... https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B8MeQLQ7pOpjX1VYc1ktMWNiVmc/edit (just in case) "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
