0utLAW Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I just downloaded and installed the latest version of BS2 and I have a question regarding the UV26 display. I'm using Helios and DCS BS Higgins profile. My question is, how do I show the numeric numbers on that panel? Can it be setup as an export? I do see that the Helios profile has a couple of options for displaying some numbers(see the selection in red); Can someone please help me figure out how to get this information to display on that panel on my second monitor? I would greatly be indebted to you!:helpsmilie: i7-8700k 3.70mhz|64GB DDR4 G.SKILL Ripjaw V 3200|ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 8G GDDR6|AsRockZ390 Extreme4|2 Samsung 870QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860 QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860EVO 500GB|Corsair 750D|Corsair H-100i|Corsair AX750|LG 34GN850-B|Acer UT241Y|TM Cougar MFDs| Buddyfox UFC|TM Warthog HOTAS(Modified Spring/Slew Control Stick, Upgraded PCB, Stick Extension)|Saitek Combat Pedals|Corsair Nightsword|Corsair K70|TrackIR5|Custom A-10C Panels|

JG14_Smil Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Just to clarify: You can export the numbers for display on a screen. Can the number be used as a variable for a numerical display (physical)?
Gadroc Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Not as far as I know (unless something new has been added to lua space in the last few versions.) You can only export a view port like the MFD / ABRIS / SHKVAL. You would have to implement OCR to turn it into raw data usable for physical pits.
JG14_Smil Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 thanks Gadroc. If not too much trouble, could you define OCR?
agrasyuk Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 OCR - Optical character recognition. taking the picture and using a specialized software to try and derive the characters displayed. with that i though several pit builders here accomplished it (babcrc?). never looked closely at the topic though, not flying the shark too much lately. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
JG14_Smil Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Thank you agrasyuk. I think I will just petition ED to fix the code for export. :)

Nope. Had to go through an additionnal display. Another French guy (Gillesdrone) did that through a trick using SIOC software. He simply programmed the behaviour of the UV-26 knowing that it always starts up at 110. So everytime one of the UV 26 key is pressed, it simply adds or substract one to the relevant digit and sends all this to the 7 segment display controller. Looks very robust to me and no need to convert anything. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
JG14_Smil Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) yes, that is simple to do, but it will go out of sync as soon as they are dispensed. That is a viewport and not export. Some digits can be exported for a digital output, but some other cannot, correct? The fix must be done by ED. It is an overiew and a bug. The goal has always been to make DCS with a interface that made doing this easier. It was never done until Helios came along. I have no intention of ever flying any other modules, but when DCSBS receives the TLC it deserves, I will purchase each and everyone that ED makes. Edited November 21, 2012 by JG14_Smil
BaD CrC Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Clearly remember the "Pit builder SDK" that ED promised at BS1 release in 2009. Still waiting for it.... https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
