UnderGod11 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Im running flaming cliffs 3 and I need help writing an lua file for this heads down display. Its for the F15. Here are my display monitor resolutions Monitor 1: 1920x 1080 Monitor 2: 1280x 1080 (where i want the helios/heads down display) Please help me I have tried so many times and so many scripts thank you!
Gadroc Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I think that screen shot is using Helios on top of another application which drew the MFD displays themselves. Can't remember the name of the application off the top of my head right now.
airdog Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Probably Leavu...or something like that. Mr_Burns Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) Leavu that was it - does it work with FC3? Does helios work with FC3? Undergod, with both these you dont need to mess with your lua - you only do that in Black Shark/A-10 so you can export your MFD's. Im pretty sure you cannot do this is Flaming Cliffs so leavu was a programe which exported them for you. Run leavu and then you can position the mfds it creates on any of your desktop screens. Similar to helios in so much you can put that on whichever screen you want without touching the lua. Edited November 21, 2012 by Mr_Burns

Mr_Burns Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Checked last night and LEAVU doesnt work straight out, maybe becuase its in DCS world the export files are in a different file location to FC2.
Sci2 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 i have tried several programs to run with the scooter profile in FC3 none works with it all you can show in FC3 within dcs world are the control axis and Radar by pressing Rctrl+enter they will probably show up on your 2nd monitor [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic90574_1.gif[/sIGPIC] Australasian Gaming Community Specs: Intel Quad 2.4GHz -- Geforce GTX 560 Duo -- SSD HDD -- 8Gb Mem -- 23" led -- 17"touch -- Logitech G940 Flight System --JoyLocs-- TIR 5 -- Cougar MFD'S -- Helios -
UnderGod11 Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 can we still use helios on FC3? and can't we just manually edit the lua to fit it in the MFD on the helios program
Weltensegler Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I didn't have any luck yet. FC3 uses the same DSCworld path as you set for the A10(which of course works) but in an F15 no input gauges seem to listen to anything yet. I will gonna try though to have the Radar show on a solid black instead of transparent red when i get some time. 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274

I have tried everything to get Helios to work with FC3 and I don't understand why you can only use two external MFD's in FC3??
Weltensegler Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 wait...TWO? you can set up hardware or Helios MFDs as many as you want but are not export from in-game or did you manage to export more than the RADAR? 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274
UnderGod11 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 no i haven't exported more than the radar... so im guessing there is no way?
Weltensegler Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Not yet at least and looking at how they do that I assume there won't be 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274
TonyZ Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I dont know if you are still monitoring this thread but I have been able to get leavu2.1 to work with dcs world flaming cliffs 3.It requires a few file copys from the leavu 2 fc2 directory and a cut and past of a few more lines in the export.lua in dcsworld.However I am as yet unable to get helios to work with flaming cliffs 3.I believe this requires a new interface from the helios developer.I can only hope that he is working on this at this time.I intend to go to his site and leave a message asking if this is indeed the case.If you would like further details i will be happy to provide them but i am at work right now and don'thave the files with me.leave a message in this thread and i will check in from time to time.
i3dman Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I am still monitoring this, please let me know what you have found. thanks in advance
leonpo Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 My current workaround for RWR export is to use android tablet: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100057 Leon

TonyZ Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) Sorry i've been away so long.Here is what i did before the last update of dcs world. 1: first go to the leavuERI_2.1/Fc2Exports/export.lua and pull out the lines concerning the dofiles. that would be lines 21 through 31 as shown here... -- We need som basic math functions dofile("./Config/export/math_fcns.lua") -- Include the data export dofile("./Config/export/Yoda_Export.lua") -- Include the LEAVU functions dofile("./Config/export/LEAVU_fcns.lua") -- Include the Eagle radar improvements dofile("./Config/export/ERI_radar.lua") 2: copy these lines into your dcs world export.lua file in the users/saved games folder using a text editor such as notepad ++ or ultraedit. 3: copy the four files mentioned in the above text from the LeavuERI_2.1/Fc2Exports folder to the DCSworld export directory where the dcsworld export.lua is located...these files should include math_fcns.lua Yoda_Export.lua LEAVU_fcns.lua ERI_radar.lua 4:then run leavu and set up mfd's on a second monitor 5: lastly run dcsworld and go to display options...then set the monitor display config to "1monitor" and screen resolution to whatever your single monitor display would be for your primary monitor.eg 1920 /1080 .if you do not do this and are running multi monitor then dcs will cover up the leavu displays when it starts. This worked for me before the latest updates of dcsworld when they moved the export.lua.so give it a try and let me know how you make out. **AS ALWAYS ..BACKUP ALL FILES THAT YOU MODIFY JUST IN CASE!*** This will only activate the mfd displays but it will NOT make the instruments work in helios.that requires an updated export lua from gadroc for fc3 and helios.Good luck Edited April 9, 2013 by TonyZ 1

OverDhill Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Any more on this? I am trying to get the the radar and any other display I can to display on a networked PC. I have Helios working for gauges but Helios does not do displays like MFD's or Radar or VSD. What we need is for someone to write a MFDE application. That works great for Falcon BMS. Very well done. Update: I got the Leavu export working. Bad news is that Leavu and Helios does not play well on my client PC. Leavu displays will flash garbage on the screen when run together. It is a start at least knowing FC3 can export some of the displays. Edited January 2, 2014 by OverDhill
