splash Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Hi, Could you please tell me what does it mean the red light over the airspeed indicator in Su-25/Su-25T? Thanks.
Ironhand Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) Above the airpeed indicator? Or are you, perhaps, referring to the rectangular red light above the AoA/Accelerometer? That light is telling you that you are flying at too high an angle of attack and, if you don't stop doing it, you will fall out of the sky like a rock. EDIT: OK. I'm more familiar with the -25T's pit. That is the light you are referring to and it is above the airspeed indicator in the vanilla -25. splash Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Yes, i was refering to the rectangular button above the tas/ias indicator. Last night I was practicing your tactics and suddenly that light came to live and it was lighted for the rest of the mission.
splash Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 I was using su-25 and now I'm not completely sure that the light is in the su-25t too
Ironhand Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 ...suddenly that light came to live and it was lighted for the rest of the mission. It shouldn't have stayed on, though, unless you were flying the ragged edge of a stall the rest of the mission. Try it again, when you can, and see if it stays lit even though you are flying normally. If so, please report it as bug in the Bug thread. Save and upload a track file, too. I was using su-25 and now I'm not completely sure that the light is in the su-25t too Yes it's there in the -25T, too, but above the AoA/"G" Meter which, in the -25T, is the instrument at the top of the left side panel. splash Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) This a snapshot from the Su-25 cockpit, with the red arrow pointing to the indicator. I'll try to repeat the mission, save a track, etc. Thanks for your interest. Edited November 24, 2012 by splash
Ironhand Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Yes, we are talking about the same thing. Exorcet Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) That's not the AoA indicator I don't fly the Su-25 much, but that should definitely be in the manual. Actually it's not, I just checked. Ironhand Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 My sincerest apologies. That's what I get from posting from work, when my attention is divided. I have it wrong. The light over the AoA indicator in your cockpit photo is the one I was thinking of. Actually, I'm not sure I've ever seen the warning light you're referring to lit. I'd be interested in seeing a track with it on. 159th_Viper Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I'd be interested in seeing a track with it on. I have never seen it on. If I had to venture a guess I'd say it's the over-speed warning light. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Ironhand Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I have never seen it on. If I had to venture a guess I'd say it's the over-speed warning light. That was my thought but, unfortunately, no. At least I couldn't get it to come on even in a power dive that ripped my wings off. aAybe Master Warning but, again, failures did';t turn it on. Ironhand Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) ... Maybe Master Warning but, again, failures didn't turn it on... Evidently not the right kind of failures. Alpha, of course, is right. The Master Warning light, it is: I guess with Nadia screaming and the aircraft trying to kill me, I've never noticed it before. I tried many times to reproduce the situation and I couldn't get the light on. The time it was on, I was in a bombing run and probably some bullet impacted my fuselage. For that reason the light was on for the rest of the mission. Nothing it is said in the flight manual about that light. Thanks to all.
